The sonic composition of Ashoka is beyond the realm of time and space, defies conventional theories of physics, and may cause hemorrhoids. Thus, claiming a date of origin is immaterial. If you had to though, you could say it all started during the Summer of 2009. Since then, three men have been channeling the power of the Ancients to create sounds that irritate the neighbors and make listeners say, "Well.. I don't hate it." 

American Singer and Guitarist Rachel Hillman was raised in Talahassee, FL and combines a blues approach to guitar with jazz vocals.  Her music is highly influenced by the Tedeschi-Trucks Band, Lake Street Dive, and Albert King.  She has performed regionally across the South Eastern United States and is currently touring with a trio of songwriters in Ireland.
