Visceral - Nightmare

MISERABLE (I FEEL) is a full circle moment.

I made this track in 2023, right after my first vacation in 8 years.

Coming back from Montreal, I was giving back the keys of the studio I had been working in — a place that cost me five years of sacrifice.

At the same time, I was watching everything fall apart.

The people I worked for left without a word, let me deal with the consequences alone, simply because I asked to get paid.
After trust abuse.
After recording a song that won a Grammy — without getting credited.

And in the middle of all that, I sent an EP to someone I loved.
Someone I believed in.
Someone who left — and played with my heart when I was already breaking.

This track was made in that exact space:
between loss, humiliation, heartbreak and exhaustion.

What makes it even more surreal is that I originally moved to Montreal years ago to make it as a dubstep producer, alongside my brother Timour Leng — who I randomly met in that very same studio.

I later moved back to Paris for that “job”… and this song marked the end of that chapter.

This is pain, closure, and acceptance at once.

A moment where everything collapsed — and something quieter began to grow. 🖤

Now i’m still without a job, not addicted to someone, better with myself, and made fucking good as music I wish i could already share with you 🖤
It’s a reminder to never give up, and fight for your dreams às your vision !!  
It’s okay to feel miserable at a certain time in life, you are nor alone

Temná energie plus čistá energie násobená uširvoucí studiovou alchymií se rovná Ekwols. Skotský drum & bassový umělec se vynořuje s urgentním zvukem, smysluplnou myšlenkou a hlubokou, přehlubokou vášní k evokující elektronické hudbě.

Nové jméno na tvrdé, technické straně DnB a člen vpřed hledícího, komunitně založeného kolektivu Evolution Chamber. Projekty Kennyho Draganse aka Ekwolse jsou součtem života stráveného po krk ponořeného ve vodách mnoha hudebních tvarů a příchutí, které přispívají kultuře všemi hudebními směry v každém možném uměleckém směru. V předchozích rovnicích už tento Edinburghský inženýr objevil nesčetné množství stylů a zvuků od předních punkových a ska kapel až po pořádání hudebních a uměleckých večerů během první dekády 21. století napříč třemi skotskými městy. Vinylář se smyslem pro kořeny pod jedním aliasem vaří dohromady dancehall, reggae, grime a jungle s čistým duchem soundsystému, zatímco přes den jako inženýr elektrotechniky jako kdyby kouzlem tvoří budoucnost skrz vývoj technologií a moderní programování.

Navždy poháněn rychlým vývojem technologií, Ekwolsova hudba je obrazem jeho smýšlení: komplexní a zvědavý, ale nikdy nezaprodá svou duši na úkor vědy. Každý release musí předávat zprávu nebo pocity, které lze prožít skrze hudbu a umělecké dílo, ve kterých hraje Ekwols hlavní roli. V jeho rukopisu je zřetelná jeho láska ke gotické a horrorové estetice a silný smysl pro smrtelnost a melancholii, které jsou v jeho hudbě hmatatelné. Soudržnost a konzistenci lze pocítit ve všem, co pod jeho rukami spatří světlo světa. A to včetně zprávy o úplně a nekompromisní rovnosti a inkuze každého aspektu života, kterou se snaží světu předat. Jako bojovník proti rasismu, fašismu a homofobii a sexismu; Ekwols promlouvá za původního a sjednocujícího ducha, na kterém byla kultura ravu postavena. A jeho hlas sílí každým dnem.

As most of you know, we are launching a new powermix series called "Neurofunk Series".

The main objective of this series is to highlight artists passionate about a common musical genre: drum and bass, and more specifically neurofunk.

The project promises equality between artists, whether known or emerging.
This is a fundamental value of our approach.

As for it, the second season will take a more dynamic turn, with back2backs exclusively.

This is the Neurofunk Series project.

A young Belgian DJ passionate about neurofunk from a very young age, he discovered the world of mixing at the age of only 15 and has not been without his turntables since.
Inspired by the greatest DJs like Mefjus, Audio, Burr Oak, Pythius and other references of the movement, he can't help but play mashups of greasy neurofunk. Especially in front of his beloved audience.

Both are already into the music production since a few years and Sour Deezul is also co-owner of HazedOut Records.
So it happened that they joined forces after a remix of Secondary Attack for HazedOut Records.
