Poker Flat Recordings welcomes back the ever-prolific Alex Niggemann for another speaker-troubling dispatch. This time out, the Aoen and Soulfooled boss drops a hea- vy–duty release that more than lives up to his usual high standards.
'Materium' is epic in every sense of the word- a sprawling, tough journey into analog tech- no – with a dash of house thrown in. It rips through the speakers – the crisp and aggres- sive production provides the space for grow- ling synths and atmospheric, tense pads. What’s more, the whole track audaciously dissolves into silence mid way through – be- fore exploding back into life via a descending analog synth line.

As the dust finally begins to settle after the release of Pan-Pot's massive album 'The Other', it's time to unleash a collection of heavy hitting reworks from the best and brightest stars of todays techno elite. Through careful consideration and an acute attention to detail, we couldn't be more elated to confirm ten artists we know and love to contribute their unique vision to Second State's first ever remix package.

Kicking things off with a heavily twisted alteration of 'Attention' is Nicole Moudaber and it's a tangled, dark trek through dense acoustic layers of audible madness. Next up is the Hamburg duo

Extrawelt with their twist on 'Optimistic Grey' and they deliver a beautiful blend of emotion and groove they are synonymous for.

Following suit is another passionately romantic number from man of the hour, Stephan Bodzin, and his take feels like floating through a sea of clouds, resulting in a timeless classic to be a focal point in any set for years to come.

Next in line is Ray Kajioka's take on '808 Nirvana' and it's a cosmic ride, ripe with swirling atmospherics laid over big churning drums and rolling cymbals.

Following up on the second 12“ of this LP is a man who needs no introduction: Carl Cox. And in true Coxy fashion he turns 'Riot' into just that: a big room, tension building monster!

Broken Engine' is the next track to get worked over and Wigbert delivers a stunning mix of shimmering tones and growling bass resulting in a lush venture through a cosmic backdrop of flickering stars in deep space.

Joseph Capriati ensues with his vision of 'Fugitives' and he brilliantly keeps the vibe of the original yet adds his trademark big room flair to take it to another level of driving euphoria.

Enlisting the talents of Alan Fitzpatrick to remix one of the slower listening tracks on the album turned out to be magic. With his signature percussion, Fitzpatrick takes the parts and creates a dive deep into sultry smooth waters of seduction.

The first of our last two remixes, which are digital exclusives, come from Paul Ritch and he delivers a grinding rendition of 'Riot', expertly crafted for the more euphoric peak time occasions.

Last and certainly not least is a man on the rise, Kevin Knapp with his twist on his own collaboration with Pan-Pot: 'Get In'. An expertly crafted tech house jam exploding with energy and attitude perfect for any moment, day or night, indoors or out.

No matter the time or place, there is something here for everyone and we are truly fulfilled and honored to present this package of cutting edge artists to celebrate this landmark moment. We know you will enjoy!

DJ and production duo Solardo were born and raised in Manchester, a city where music has historically been central to life. Coming from a background in dubstep, the pair have taken these roots and cultivated them into a fresh bass-heavy signature that has started to resonate with a wider audience, building up a force of fans and nods from influential label bosses along with a healthy slew of releases behind them on the likes of Kalkuki and Viva Music. Having put the hours in developing their ethos and aesthetic, 2016 is already proving to be a big year for the production team. 

Here the pair (made up of Mark Richards and James Eliot) have delivered us a large chunk of bass driven techno, featuring a very special and exclusive first listen to a collaboration with Skream another techno convert who they're set to link with when they make their debut in Room Two on May 7th.

Gjone ‘Journey Man/ Shadowdancer’

Here at Selador Towers we like to pride ourselves in our diverse electronic music tastes and we’ve always tried to reflect that in our output. Throughout our short history we’ve run the gamut from Deep House to Techno and Tech House to Electronica stopping off at every flavour in-between. We’ve never been ones for pigeonholes. Horrible claustrophobic smelly things ;-)

This philosophy could not be more evident than right here on our next offering. Out of Denmark we bring you Gjone (pronounced Yoh-na) with two very different sounding original productions. 

First up ’Journey Man’ is an assured, distinctive piece of work, thanks in the main to it’s idiosyncratic vocal which elevates it head and shoulders above the crowd. Got more hooks than a nightclub cloakroom this one. 

Next comes the altogether more raw, bumpy house flavourings of ’Shadowdancer’. Contemporary, quirky, funky, deep house at it’s finest. Bad ass. 

On the remix tip, it’s all aboard the Techno train with Pete Oak at the helm. Pitching down the vocal and fuelled by driving beats and a thunderous baseline, this is peak time, dark room business.

And finally, rounding off the package in fine style, we welcome Inxec with his trademark techie beats underpinning an archetypal stabby motif that has style to burn.

A release that pulls in four different directions yet still manages to retain a unified outlook. Much like our label then :-)

Dimitri Nakov & BVision float into the Tulipa gardens and launch Talamanca / Phat Tom passionately into the glowing shrubs. These two compositions are chock-full of bubbly warbles, growling bass, and crystalline percussion. Falling in line with the Tulipa sound, THe WHite SHadow (FR), Sami Wentz, and Uakoz spawn mystical remixes that capture the hypnotic spirit and moody sensibilities always found stirring in the flowerbeds. Production duo Mark Richards & James Eliot aka Solardo are the next to make their mark on Hot Creations with ‘Tribesmen’, delivering two heavy-duty cuts destined to stir serious heat in the club.

Already doing the rounds worldwide at the hands of some of the biggest names in the business, ‘Tribesmen’ and ‘Psycho Girlfriend’ are built straight for the dancefloor around dense and heavy basslines, punchy percussion and prominent vocal slices.

Hailing from Manchester, Solardo are continuing the city’s rich heritage in house music whilst carving out their own sound in the house and techno scene with releases on Madtech, MTA Records and more recently Of Unsound Mind. D-FORMATION is Dimas Carbajo, the owner and main exponent of BEATFREAK GROUP, a business alliance which is proud to include, among many others, the first Spanish record label of underground electronic music , BEATFREAK RECORDINGS, which has been conveying this national music style to the entire planet since 1997.

With over 25 years in his career path, both in worldwide booths and music studios in his role as a producer, D-FORMATION is one of the most respected electronic music artists across the world. Proof of that is his album 'MADRID' for YOSHITOSHI, (Deep Dish's label), which was launched in one of the most prestigious compilation series of the industry, being the only Spanish artist featured in it so far.

When he was barely 17 years old, he was awarded the first prize of the Spanish DMC DJ championship for two consecutive times (see file) and as from that time onwards his work was indefatigable not only as a megamixer for numerous Spanish multinational music companies, but also travelling around the entire country with his DMC gigs.

When he was only 23 years, one of his ever greatest projects came about and that was founding his first record label, MD RECORDS, which revolutionized the then electronic music market and positioned itself as the best Spanish label with the best electronic music for many years.

In 2003, driven by the professional need of giving a change not only to his career, but also to his own music style, the great artistic evolution came into being and with which he continues to work these days: D-FORMATION.

As from that moment onwards, his rise as a DJ and producer was and continues to be unstoppable, achieving and securing the recognition and support of the great majority of the underground industry from Tech and Progressive House to Trance itself. And all that was due to those melodic tinges, intrinsic and inherent to his tracks, which delighted and made wonders with artists such as Tiësto, Armin Van Buuren, Danny Tenaglia, John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo or Deep Dish, which also enabled him to work for important record labels like Sony Music, Virgin Records, EMI, Beatfreak, Tusom, Toolroom, Yoshitoshi, Frequenza, Nervous, Twisted, CR2, Stereo Productions, Monique Musique or Baroque.

Numerous prizes as a DJ and as a producer granted by the industry vouch for all those years of his professional career, although it is noteworthy his #39 position in the Top 100 DJs of the prestigious DJMAG magazine, the highest ranking that a Spanish DJ has ever achieved (see file).

Nowadays he combines his work at the studio with an almost permanent tour across the best festivals and events in the entire world such as Space, Amnesia, Privilege or Pacha in Ibiza, Ageha and Womb (Tokyo), Zouk Club (Singapore), Pacha Cielo (New York), Stereo (Montreal) Sirena (Brazil), Ministry Of Sound (London), Paradiso (Amsterdam), Queen (Paris), Pacha Sharm (Egypt), Space (Miami), Avalon (Los Angeles), Space of Sound or Fabrik (Madrid), SOS Club, Cindirella Club, Absolut Club, Feelnet Club (China), Evil Club (Seoul) or Stadium Club (Jakarta), at which he has shared the booth with as renowned artists as Marco Carola, Carl Cox, John Digweed, Loco Dice, Hernan Cattaneo, Steve Lawler, Dubfire, Nic Fanchulli, Chus & Ceballos, Dave Clarke, Layo & Bushwacka, Sharam, Victor Calderone, Technasia, Michel De Hey, Booka Shade or Umek.

In 2014 Beatport has regarded and included D-FORMATION as one of the most important artists of the last decade, along with great names who has also made history such as Deadmau5, Eric Prydz, Sasha, John Digweed, Nathan Fake, Guy Gerber or Dave Seaman (see file).
