In December 2006 I got asked to do a live DJ set on Power 106 in LA, one of the biggest hip hop radio stations in the country. They said it was a special series where I could play any genre of music and wanted it to be like a club set. DJ AM had done one before that was so dope, so I felt I had to do something dope as well. I made a ton of custom edits and practiced at home to make sure the time would be exact. I had never DJed on a major radio station, only small college radio shows. 

I was just coming off DJing only on vinyl for 10 years. The DJ program we were using called Serato was very new and had just come out about a year or so earlier, so it was a whole new world of DJing. Eric Dlux and DJ Echo were the hosts and made it so much fun with their energy and ability to hype anything up. There is even a youtube video of parts of that day. After my set Fashen went on to do an amazing set too. So many people heard this mix live on the radio it was insane, and thankfully someone recorded it somehow, with the radio static and all. I just realized I have posted this mix a few yrs ago. I didn't realize cuz I had so many friends record me showz from NYC radio, not 2 mention other showz around the globe. In any case, these 2 friends of mine were recording on the same night. I usually put the tapes I digitized in a separate tote marked "Tapes That I Already Posted". So with that being said, there might be some doubles like this in the future.
Okay, enough of that, Frankie Knuckles delivers the goods as he always did. Frankie Knuckles is a true legend as we all know. What I loved about him, he alwayz treated his fans with family like love. I truly miss him ❤️
