Ballast returns to Perfect Driver with his 3rd single titled 'In The Sticks.' Accompanying the original are 2 remix variations from both Wuki and Perfect Driver label head Matthew Anthony. Arguably featuring our hardest basslines to date, this release is destined to shake club foundations and bootys alike with its dark, dirty and undeniably funky grooves. Wuki takes his remix to a whole new level with a jaw dropping wall of bass and infectiously chugging percussion. In addition he graciously provides us with a special "naughty" version for those who opt to get even dirtier. Reminiscent of and paying homage to the earlier days of house, Matthew Anthony takes us back with his vintage sounding edits complete with club and extended remixes. Here at the label we had a blast compiling this wide range of sounds for you! Stay tuned for more this summer!

Just ahead of a landmark 50th EP release, Catz ‘N Dogz’s Pets Recordings turn to Johan Cederberg aka HNNY for a special five track release that very much invites us deep into the off kilter world of the revered Swedish producer. 

Before now HNNY - preferably pronounced “honey” - has won himself many fans with curious and quirky releases on labels including Studio Barnhus, Let’s Play House and Local Talk. Producing house but with a charming sense of melody, a great ear for a sample and an irresistible sense of groove, he is a firm DJ and dancer favourite all across Europe, and for good reason. 

Opening the EP is ‘Happy Happy House House’, a lazy, beachy cut awash with sun-kissed melody and trip hop grooves. Swaying gently to and fro, it’s an immediately soothing track before ‘Brasilian Sound’ is as Latin as you would expect from the title: it's a percussive, summery, atmospheric jaunt though up-tempo and feel-good house that's littered with distant whistles, the sound of kids playing in the park and a variety of loveable instruments. ‘Fresh Laundry’ then drops into a much slower and more purposeful groove - stoned drums and a distant bassline unfold lazily before big wind instruments begin tooting up top. It’s human, imperfect and full of keys that imbue it with the joys of spring.

On the flip, ‘Fruktstund’ is another adult lullaby with colourful, cartoony instrumentals, angular grooves and plenty of organic textures, whilst closer ‘Yogalates’ is much the same with its big xylophones, joyous piano chords, rubbery kicks and generally disarming sense of playfulness. 

Spring is just round the corner but it feels so much closer with these enchanting new cuts from HNNY.
