This week's stream was some amazing fun. Lots of homies were tuned in for this one which made for a fun, active chat.  Great energy from everyone who came through, which I tried my best to channel into this session. Started on a deep, rolling liquid summer type vibe for the first hour into some angular tech stuff and a few darker minimal tech rollers after the 1 hour mark before moving back into some easy atmospheric liquid with a touch of airy jungle at the end.

Always a fun time linking with the chat crew on Twitch. Started the session off on some deep soul + jazz influenced rollers. Pushed the energy up with some chunky liquid + funk rollers around 45 min in. Second hour went well into angular tech + minimal territory before slipping into some sci-fi liquid towards the end. Some dope new futuristic cuts that I had to play. It was vibes in the chat with some great friends stopping by to check the stream this week.

Hello and welcome to episode 42 of The DJ B-12 Deep House Experience. Mery Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year 2023. Sorry, I haven't had time to do any new shows lately, so I am posting a guest mix I did for Blue Amazon's Affiliate Show on Frisky Radio I did back in August. It's an hour long, 31 tracks and no talking or voiceover. It's journey though deep house, a bit of tech house, some breaks and electro breaks, acid, techno, progressive, retro, melodic and even a classic oldskool track. I’m pleased to deliver Episode 12 of my Lowering The Tone podcast-  2.5 hours of underground music and chat. 
This time round, I caught up with one of the most switched on people I know who is also a good friend, Syd Gris. A major player on the west coast of America, he is not just a Dj but a promoter and a key person within Opulent Temple (one of the biggest and most respected sound camps at Burning Man). In this interview he gives us a rare insight into the inner workings and how he has endured 15 years plus, of DJing and throwing parties.

D:RC came up DJing (mostly drum'nbass) in the mid-90s while attending the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga. As founding member of the local Phungus, Playtheavy and Sleuth Empire crews he found himself at the center of a burgeoning rave scene, collaborating with friends on dance music events in the Athens/Atlanta areas and beyond.

In 2004 he founded Studio:Machina, a graphic design practice geared towards the music industry. Building on his behind the scenes expertise and keen artistic instincts he's become an in-demand contributor on artistic projects in a variety of media. He's toured the US as member of the Smookie Illson bass music trio, serves as creative director for the Chicago-based Illeven:Eleven Recordings label and functions as brand/art director of several nightlife concepts. 

Behind the decks he currently heavily favors the sounds of DNB, but brief forays into breakbeat, house, UK Garage + Bass and dubstep are not uncommon. Get to know.
