This time round I had the pleasure of talking with Steve Young AKA Hedflux about his journey into music & the up’s and downs of life in general, it's a long conversation which I decided not to edit down Iv'e just extended the show to fit it all in! 
Steve is an interesting and intelligent character that I am sure you will warm to.

I try hard to make these shows honest & representative of my personality and my tastes, I hope by now that is coming through in each show & I genuinely love doing this, but I’m not the greatest at online promotion, in fact I become a bit self conscious about ‘over doing it’ (no one wants to be accused of Spamming), so if you can lend a hand by sharing the link via your social media platforms it would be a massive boost to the awareness…. and I won’t have to look like a dick that just talks about the same thing all the time ;-)

Im pleased to give you Episode 18 of the Lowering The Tone podcast. 

This time round I had the pleasure to sit down with Ant Wilson Aka 'Chicago Loop' and have an in-depth chat about starting your career again from scratch, life after the London Acid Techno scene and naming himself after a ring road in America.

As I have mentioned before these are not so much of an interview more of just a laid back conversation that veers off in all directions, thats is the charm though IMO, listening back to this one I think it will appeal to DJ’s who wish (and do) travel because Ant is a well seasoned DJ who has some great stories of his on the road experiences around the globe, I found his story petty inspiring I hope you do to.

As you should expect by now I explore many genres mix wise but keeping it Techy based. As promised in the show I will bring back the ‘Deeper Selection’ next episode.

So for those of you that missed it, this set was recorded live on the Mercury Thames Cruiser at the Elite Force Boat Party in conjunction with Supatronix back in July 2010. The party was a huge, drunken success with a glorious sun-kissed evening on the Thames, a capacity boat and a FAT & thoroughly full-bodied soundtrack.

The set is a warts & all live recording (on two CDJ-800s ...ugh.... and a DJM-600 ...eek...) with idents added later, and also an additional TWO tracks added post-party to the end of the mix so it actually finishes as it was always intended to (the ship's captain cut us off 10 minutes early on the night).

It's the first live set I've put out as a Strongarm Sessions since back in the day, and the first official 'Sessions' of 2010.

As a DJ, Mark has compiled and mixed compilations for Bedrock Breaks, Fabric Live (21) & ‘Sessions Vol 8.1' for Ministry of Sound.

Released Music on R&S, Kingsize, Bedrock, Yoshitoshi, Mo Wax, Toolroom, Global Underground, SAW recordings, to name but a few.

Remixed such artists as James Zabiela, D-Nox & Beckers, Deep Dish, Lee Coombs, Stephane K, Phil Kieran, U.N.K.L.E 

He has run (as a label manager/A+R & recording artist) the highly influential LOT49 & Whole 9 Yards (W9Y) imprints.

In June 2013 Mark started a Podcast series ‘Lowering The Tone’ which in 2016 morphed into a Progressive Techno Label.

He now records exclusively for Lowering The Tone and is currently working on his fourth artist album, he still hosts Lowering The Tone podcast & also co-hosts ‘Setting The Tone’ (Podcast) with Ben Coda.
