Esse EP ficou na minha cabeça por mais de cinco anos. A primeira faixa que fiz dentro dessa ideia foi Auto da Compadecida, lançada em 2020, que sampleia a trilha do filme. Desde então, venho pensando nisso, ouvindo, pesquisando, testando e tentando achar um som que fizesse sentido.

Bailão de Dois junta elementos da música nordestina com beats eletrônicos. O nome vem da ideia do prato mesmo — baião de dois — que mistura duas bases diferentes num negócio só. Foi isso que tentei fazer aqui também: cruzar gêneros e referências musicais em cada faixa do EP.

E a artwork do EP nasceu num processo junto com minha namorada, que é de Teresina. Fizemos um brainstorming com referências do Nordeste, tanto do senso comum quanto das versões mais atuais. Depois, comecei a traduzir tudo isso em imagem, criando várias versões com cenários cheios de elementos, mas nenhuma parecia certa. Aos poucos fui limpando tudo, até chegar numa composição mais minimalista, com um cacto humanóide no centro — meio surreal, meio simbólico, direto ao ponto, como o som do EP.

Buarky – Bailão de Dois

This EP has been on my mind for over five years. The first track I made from this idea was Auto da Compadecida, released in 2020, sampling the film’s soundtrack. Since then, I’ve been thinking about it, listening, researching, testing, and trying to find a sound that made sense.

Bailão de Dois brings together elements of Northeastern Brazilian music with electronic beats. The name comes from the dish itself — baião de dois — which mixes two different basics into one. That’s what I tried to do here too: crossing genres and musical references on every track of the EP.

The artwork came from a process with my girlfriend, who’s from Teresina. We brainstormed references from the Northeast, both common and more current. Then I started translating all that into visuals, creating several versions with busy scenes, but nothing felt right. Gradually, I stripped it down to a more minimal composition, with a humanoid cactus in the center — somewhat surreal, symbolic, and straight to the point, like the sound of the EP.

Buarky é o projeto solo de Yuri Ferrari de Lima, produtor musical de São Paulo que começou produzindo rap no home studio, colaborando com artistas da cena independente. Paralelamente, deu início a uma pesquisa sonora própria, misturando música eletrônica, funk e referências da música brasileira.

O projeto nasceu no SoundCloud com o lançamento da faixa Us Di Jay pelo selo Arrastão, quando Mulu sugeriu que ele criasse um novo nome artístico, já que seu trabalho autoral soava muito diferente das produções de rap. Foi aí que surgiu "Buarky" — uma fusão entre Chico Buarque e DJ Marky, refletindo a ideia de unir tradição brasileira e cultura de pista.

Hoje, Buarky segue explorando som com liberdade, diversão e pesquisa, trabalhando ao lado de amigos e produzindo faixas que provocam, dançam e se conectam com o agora.

Buarky is the solo project of Yuri Ferrari de Lima, a music producer from São Paulo who started making rap beats in his home studio, collaborating with artists from the independent scene. Alongside that, he began shaping his own sonic identity—blending electronic music, funk, and Brazilian musical heritage.

The project emerged on SoundCloud with the release of Us Di Jay on the Arrastão label, after Mulu encouraged him to adopt a new alias, since his solo sound was distinct from his rap work. That’s how “Buarky” was born—a mix of Chico Buarque and DJ Marky, symbolizing the fusion of Brazilian tradition and club culture.

Today, Buarky keeps exploring music with freedom, playfulness, and research—collaborating with friends and crafting tracks that aim to move both body and spirit.
