It's been a full year since my first mix for FED. Since then, I've become a regular contributor as we navigate what most agree is a very different world. I've heard countless variations on "Shit just got real" lately, and it certainly feels that way. It's why I believe more than ever in our core FED mission: inviting people to the table to share — be it ideas, perspectives, recipes, stories, playlists — with each other, like a truly satisfying meal.

In keeping with this "unvarnished reality" theme, I've delivered a less controlled mix than before. While I used to painstakingly try to keep the vibe within certain parameters, this one covers a much wider range. Soulful, contemplative jazzy numbers at the start slowly give way to a more urgent sound, ramping up into dark, futuristic tech-infused cuts towards the middle. The mix then sort of evens back out into a kind of energetic bliss. Recently, I had the pleasure of opening for Mrs. Magoo — one of Scotland’s finest — twice in one weekend. First in Hamilton with Moemoneynoprblms, then in Ottawa with Camo Sessions. What an incredible weekend — pure, proper vibes from start to finish. I had an absolute blast!

It's a bittersweet moment, but we've arrived at the final season of FED magazine.

Over the past couple of years, I've had the immense pleasure of providing the soundtrack for every seasonal launch through a curated mix. This latest mix marks the conclusion of FED, and it is indeed a bittersweet feeling. I am proud of the work we accomplished with FED, and I'm very glad Ashley recruited me to help bring her vision to life. Happy Halloween month!  To celebrate the spooky season, I went dark and heavy for my radio set this time around.  I play a lot of liquid and jungle, but sometimes have to remind myself and others that I can throw down some of that dirty and grimy dnb too! D:RC came up DJing (mostly drum'nbass) in the mid-90s while attending the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga. As founding member of the local Phungus, Playtheavy and Sleuth Empire crews he found himself at the center of a burgeoning rave scene, collaborating with friends on dance music events in the Athens/Atlanta areas and beyond.

In 2004 he founded Studio:Machina, a graphic design practice geared towards the music industry. Building on his behind the scenes expertise and keen artistic instincts he's become an in-demand contributor on artistic projects in a variety of media. He's toured the US as member of the Smookie Illson bass music trio, serves as creative director for the Chicago-based Illeven:Eleven Recordings label and functions as brand/art director of several nightlife concepts. 

Behind the decks he currently heavily favors the sounds of DNB, but brief forays into breakbeat, house, UK Garage + Bass and dubstep are not uncommon. Get to know.
