Bombstrikes deliver up another huge does of Funk, this time in the shape of a debut EP from X-Ray Ted. Being no stranger to the scene, X-Ray Ted has soaked up the sounds of his native city Bristol on previous productions, earning a seal of approval from aficionados such as Craig Charles and this EP looks set to continue that trend. There are three tracks to choose from here, starting with the lead track 'Fake Gold' which fuses guitar hooks with slick bass and rolling beats to devastating effect. The title track 'Swagger' struts it's sound exactly how you would expect, grooving things along nicely before the horn line takes the track to another level! Finally, 'Buddy Burger' takes things down a 4/4 disco funk route with a hypnotising vocal hook that will draw you in after just one listen. All in all, an excellent debut on Bombstrikes and can't wait to hear more!

Breakbeat Paradise Recordings is turning back time to the early 70s when funk music was made by talented musicians joining forces in bands with the objective to create the next big funk anthem. So many big tunes and classic funk productions came out of this era and it also harnessed a new breed of funk bands across the globe who is dedicated to continuing the legacy of the funk music in the new millennium.

Breakbeat Paradise Recordings has proudly collected 4 bands to represent the new era of funk from various parts of Europe. German based Grand Slam, Swiss funk band Grand Mothers&rsquo; Funck, Nasa Funk from Greece and A Man About a Dog from the UK has all provided original funk jams to this groovy 12&rdquo; vinyl.
On this Digital we have even gathered some of the greatest talents in the electronic funk scene to produce some dancefloor-oriented remixes of these original funk jams. Beat Le Juice, Jayl Funk, B-Side &amp; BadboE has all given their signature twists and made some dynamite DJ friendly versions out of these funk bombs.

Leading the way on the a-side is Grand Slam who has created a big summer tune which sits in well with some of the current radio funk jams and will be sure to bring the ladies on the floor. Grand Slam has been around since 1985 by incorporating various flavors from Rock, Jazz, Soul and Hip Hop. The Get On Down jam from their release out in May 2017 shows just how it&rsquo;s done to do classic oldskool P-Funk which sounds as fresh as anything else on the radio here in 2020! Produced by (and featuring) veteran P-Funk legend Gary &ldquo;Mudbone&rdquo; Cooper!

Grand Mother&rsquo;s Funck means business on the straight up funky The Dog tune taken from their brand new album Take The Money. A special edit was done for this release as they are celebrating their 12th album release from a legendary veteran funk band who has been tearing up the Swiss funk scene for over 23 years now.
On the flipside the funk is riding equally high as Nasa Funk rolls in their Stand Up jam. Straight outta Thessaloniki, Greece comes this 5-man band with vocalist George Perin leading the way. This tune is produced with old friend of the label Basement Freaks.

Last but certainly not least we turn our attention to the UK where the band A Man About a Dog has cooked up a latin-inspired and jazzy funk tune called Pollos.
On the remix duties we start off with a beautiful electro remix of Grand Slam&rsquo;s Get On Down track by the talented Beat Le Juice, who has captured the smooth funky essence of the original and converted it into his own electro/disco bumping style.

For the second remix we turned to the always reliable, always groovy Jayl Funk who&rsquo;s putting some head nodding funky breaks on GMF&rsquo;s The Dog tune.
Last but not least we called upon 2 veteran producers in the electronic funk scene: B-Side and label owner BadboE, who&rsquo;s taken a serious flirt with some housy disco beats on their groovy remix of A Man About a Dog's Pollo track.

That sums up the first all original funk release to be dropped on Breakbeat Paradise Recordings. The dynamic duo is back! All Good Funk Alliance return to Super Hi-Fi Recordings with Let’s Execute, a four-song EP filled to the brim with prime time funkiness. The Alliance — comprised of Frank Cueto and Rusty Belicek — have delivered their brand of tightly produced electronic jams for over 20 years and Let’s Execute is another essential piece in their funky equation.

The title track sets things off with potent mid-tempo breakbeats and silky synth action. Enter the formidable voice of Big Stuff whose Big Daddy Kane-style flow connects the old and new schools. Paying homage to their DC-locale, the Funk Alliance next deliver “Control Your Roll” which is anchored in swinging go-go style rhythms. Black Masala adds some serious horns, creating a cool call-and-response with the synth lines and the overall groove. Vocalists Heidi Martin and the late Mustafa Akbar join the Alliance on “To The People,” a soulful cut with an uplifting, positive message — much needed in these times. Breakbeat Paradise Recording is on a journey of pushing funk and breaks to a new audience and joining forces with Greek-based Nasa Funk who is on the very same journey. Nasa Funk released their Stand Up track on the Funk Originals 12&rdquo; vinyl back in 2016 and is now ready to drop their first full EP on the label.
Nasa Funk who consists of Alexandros Spanidis: drums / Costas Chasiotis: bass / Alexandros Papoulidis: guitar / Charis Kapetanakis: saxophone, keys / Georges Perin: vocals, talkbox has been pushing funk and hiphop to the Greek audience since the late 90s which has earned a big following in though-out Greece. They are now ready to take on the world stage and has cooked up the funk anthem with the Covid relevant title: Gonna Work It. &ldquo;Love will prevail&rdquo; as lead singer Georges Perin puts it on this finger snapping, low-slung funk jam.
To complete the package Nasa Funk has teamed up with some of biggest talents in the electronic funk scene who are all giving their signature twist to the Gonna Work It joint.Starting off with the French producer duo Prosper &amp; Stabfinger who took the track to a completely different dimension by giving it a state-of-the-art nu-disco treatment. Prosper &amp; Stabfinger are known for their funky flavors and has recently journeyed into the world of disco and this remix is certainly a proof that they feel very much at home in that genre. Next up welcomes back a true BBP veteran and always reliable Jayl Funk who brings the heavy funky beats and skillfully turns the jam into a midtempo banger. Both previously mentioned remixes comewith instrumental mixes.For some alternative remixes Nasa Funk went to local DJ Mount Ten who took a more laid-back and chilled approach on the Gonna Work It track.
