<p>Marino Canal returns to MOOD with a follow up to his 2014 ‘Percolate’ EP and his wonderful remix of label boss Nicole Moudber’s ‘Her Dub Material’, a mix that&#8217;s still doing the damage for so many. As he prepares for the summer’s season madness, Marino very kindly eases in with his trio of new tracks that see him take us on a quite unexpected but most welcomed tangent. <br />
 Continuing the deep and dubby flavour that Nicole left us with, Marino opens his latest EP with the title track, ‘Strain’. Belying its title, the opener shows no sign of taut, sinewy or stressed beats. Instead we are treated a warm, deep and hypnotising house cut. The mesmeric ‘Mercurial’ is up next with its contrasting warm piano chords and icy ivory melody, before Marino closes the EP with the dub daubed sound of &#8216;New Order’.</p>

Marino Canal - Strain (Original Mix)

This track has been such a fun journey — experimenting with all kinds of synths, drum machines, and my voice — and I’m thrilled to throw it out there.

I’ve prepared two versions for different settings: an instrumental one and the original mix with vocals. With this track I wanted to build an evolving journey — starting groovy, moving through more soothing and immersive moments, and then hitting with darker, hypnotic drops. It’s my take on the deeper shades of house with a strong kick and bass driving it forward.

Harry Romero has been a driving creator of dance floor grooves since the '90s, contributing his own originals to revered imprints like Strictly Rhythm, Ovum, Defected and more. He continues his streak with a final release on Play It Say It to close out 2017, ending things out with a furiously grooving three-track EP called 'Mother Earth'. The title track preps listeners for exactly the kind of sound they should strap in for: tribal, jungle-inspired beats that'll break down your inhibitions with every growing drum beat.

'Mother Earth' is out on Play It Say It on December 8.
