As a DJ, (and enthusiast of the bass guitar) my dream is to share with people the legacy of Funk and Soul and keep the memory of the 70s 80s alive.  I want to especially introduce the younger generation to this amazing music style and my dream is that they embrace it. Youngsters are used to current music trends that neither excite or inspire them........but if they get to know and love Funk and Soul, I envision a transformation and a new awareness of music they will respect and enjoy.  There are so many styles of music like Funk, Soul, Jazz, Blues, Rock, Disco, Fusion, Afro, Motown, the list goes on ....all of which feature in my DJ set.  I have created a charitable foundation and my work as a DJ sponsors this initiative to keep the art form alive, by financing and organizing conferences, associations and support of music academy schools.  Any donations will be used to enlighten a whole new generation about art & music. 

Now it is my pleasure to select for you, some of the best music from the Funk and Soul era and other genres: Jazz, Blues, Rock, Disco, Fusion, Boogie, Afro, Latin, Motown, Reggae, Nu Jazz, Jazz Funk and Rare Grooves.  
Its sometimes hard to know what is Funk, as there is a lot of crossover between Funk, Soul, Disco, Jazz, Blues and Rock but now, from my heart and soul, I am giving you.....undiluted examples of steaming hot Funk! Dr. View is the sonic spirit of Black Wall Street embodied. The Tulsa-based producer and DJ is a southern, soulful, sampled-based beat maker and songwriter who utilizes sound to educate and liberate people through music and storytelling. Inspired by the likes of Big K.R.I.T., Kanye West, Bobbi Humphrey, Dr. Dre, The Dream, Quincy Jones, and Missy Elliott, Dr. View gets his name not only from his PhD, but from his southern roots in Longview, TX. These days, at the center of his artistry, is the historic Greenwood district in Tulsa that was destroyed in the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. He is the CEO & executive producer of Motown’s Fire in Little Africa compilation, and is a Nasir Jones (Nas) Hip Hop Fellow at Harvard University.

A Tema resident from birth, Yaa Pono has quickly risen to become not just Ghana’s but one of Africa’s premier and best loved freestyle hip hop artists. 
His fast wit, natural charisma, use of the Akan language and sharp social observations are some of the reasons behind Pono’s championing on the social media site, YouTube, by his legion of fans. Blending these elements with highlife, hip hop, dancehall and afrobeat rhythms demonstrates Pono’s true versatility. His re-emergence as Ghana's most respected rapper (and singer) is set.

After appearing on several local radio shows and competitions, Yaa Pono entered the studio in 1995. He can count artists such as Sarkodie, Stay Jay, Guru, D Cryme and Chris Waddle among his contemporaries as they often appeared together at gigs. Dr. Duncan’s ‘Kasahari Level’ show proved the platform for bringing Pono’s unparalled skill to the World.
