Never has the phrase “he shoots, he scores” been more applicable than when mentioning rabid hockey fan and chart-topping singer/songwriter John Ondrasik. The Los Angeles native, who goes by Five for Fighting (a five-minute penalty for on-the-ice fist-a-cuffs), burst on the scene some 15 years ago with his Grammy Award-nominated hit “Superman (It’s Not Easy),” and has been a mainstay on mainstream radio ever since. While he doesn’t wear tights and fight crime as his breakthrough track “Superman” suggests, his songs could bring any maniacal villain to their knees (and tears) with his poignantly sharp songs that cut deeper than a Ginsu knife.

Ondrasik signed his first deal in 1997 with "Message For Albert,” but it was his follow-up “American Town” that really took flight for Fighting.  The aforementioned “Superman (It’s Not Easy)” went Platinum (as did the album), was #1 on Adult Top 40, #2 on Hot AC, and in the Top 40 Top 10.  The song actually hit the airwaves, and reached #1 the same week his daughter Olivia was born. Not too shabby as Adam Sandler once said. Adding more fuel to the emotional fire, the mega-hit served as sort of an unofficial anthem following the 9.11 attacks on American soil. Naturally, he performed it at The Concert For New York City.

In his career, Ondrasik has sold over 2.5 million albums including 2004's “Battle for Everything,” which spawned the 2X platinum “100 Years,” which continues to melt hearts, provide all ages with an instant case of nostalgia.  Other hits have included “The Riddle,” "World," "Chances" and "What If." His music has been featured in 350 films, TV shows and advertisements ranging from the The Blind Side to Hawaii Five-O. He has also written tunes for everyone from Josh Groban to The Backstreet Boys. 

When not writing killer tunes, Ondrasik is putting pen to paper for his other passion: sports. The avid Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings fan has been a sports commentator for SI.com,  the Kings, and a guest on everything from Jim Rome to ESPN SportsCenter, the latter of which he became the first “band” to appear and perform.
“I recognize the immature shallowness of the adult sports fan obsession, but I've always had it. Lakers as a kid, UCLA, Kings etc...Many folks use music as their escape, I imagine sports as mine. Writing is a kick as I've always had a fantasy to be a sports reporter/writer,” he says gleefully.

As he explores the possibility of a Broadway show featuring his tunes, he’s currently on the road (not literally) performing songs as a quartet (Five for Fighting literally) and with symphonies around the country.  "The symphony and quartet shows have been fantastic,” he said. “I've had the honor of working with some world class arrangers in my career.  To present the more ambitious songs, as well as the popular tunes, in this format has refueled my passion for performing.”

...And making new music. Ondrasik's "What If" hit the Hot AC charts and was chosen by Richard Branson (sorry, Sir Richard Branson) as the soundtrack for his non-profit Virgin Unite.  And his most recent song "All for One" was penned for the 100th episode of Hawaii Five-O.  Ondrasik is currently working on the follow-up to his sixth album, Bookmarks.

Looking ahead while looking back, the one-man Fighting army, said, “I have been blessed to have loving and supportive parents, an amazing wife and partner, and two great kids. Family is crucial to any career, keeps the ups and downs, down and up.”

O Project46 nasceu em 2008 com amigos de infância que tinham uma banda cover de Slipknot (Kroach) que posteriormente partiram para um novo “projeto” de músicas autorais. Seu primeiro registro foi com o EP intitulado If You Want Your Survival Sign Wake up Tomorrow contendo 4 faixas em inglês. Depois de mais de 30 shows a banda já tinha material novo e estava pronta para gravar seu primeiro álbum. 

Em 2011, o Project46 gravou seu primeiro álbum, o Doa a Quem Doer que contou com a produção do renomado produtor Adair Daufembach (Hangar, John Wayne, Pray for Mercy, Command6, Huaska, Ponto Nulo no Céu, Against Tolerance, entre outros). 

Doa a Quem Doer foi disponibilizado para download gratuito no site oficial do Project46 além de ser o primeiro registro da banda com letras cantadas em português. A mudança foi muito positiva e a banda ganhou muito mais fãs e admiradores.

Em 2012, foi lançado o EP Ao Vivo no Inferno com 5 faixas ao vivo, incluindo um cover de Slipknot. O registro foi feito em São Paulo na tradicional casa de shows, Inferno Club e no mesmo ano, a banda participou do mega-festival MAQUINARIA FEST no Chile.

Em 2013 a banda foi a única representante nacional do line-up do MONSTERS OF ROCK Brasil 2013 na Arena Anhembi em São Paulo. Até o final de 2013, a banda promoveu a turnê DOA A QUEM DOER Tour e contabilizou mais de 80 shows, 3 vídeo-clipes e 25 mil downloads oficiais do álbum e 3 mil cópias vendidas.

Recentemente o Project46 lançou seu segundo álbum de estúdio intitulado Que Seja Feita a Nossa Vontade, lançado em Abril de 2014 em todo o território nacional pelo selo Wikimetal Music. O álbum assinado novamente pelo produtor Adair Daufembach, tem como temática principal a atual situação sócio-economica do nosso país que passa por um momento difícil onde passea pela corrupção, violência, desigualdade e injustiça.

Atualmente a banda está em turnê pelo novo álbum, e já participou de grandes festivais pelo Brasil e Chile, além de participar de 3 shows da última tour do Cavalera Conspiracy pela América do Sul.

With a career spanning nearly three decades, the Freestylers—Aston Harvey and Matt Cantor—have made their mark on the electronic dance music scene. From playing the world’s biggest festivals and clubs to appearing on Top of the Pops, they’ve remained at the forefront of the genre without ever standing still.

Origins & Breakthrough

Aston Harvey began as an engineer and producer, working with Rebel MC / Congo Natty and co-producing the jungle classic Spiritual Aura with DJ Rap. Matt Cantor, meanwhile, was part of Strike, co-producing the dance hit U Sure Do. The two met at Fresh Records, bonding over their love of hip-hop, electro, and breakbeats, leading to the birth of the Freestylers.

Their debut album brought them international success, with hits like B-Boy Stance and Ruffneck landing in the UK, Dutch, and German Top 20. A major US record deal followed, leading to a spot on Lenny Kravitz’s American Woman tour and a legendary Glastonbury 1999 performance.

Global Hits & Reinvention

Over the years, they’ve released a string of anthems, from Push Up, a #1 hit in Australia, Holland, and Belgium, to Cracks, which became a dubstep classic with 80+ million streams. They’ve also collaborated with Pendulum and held festival residencies worldwide.

In 2025, they’re set to release their seventh studio album, Enter the Sound—a collaboration with Dub Pistols featuring reggae legends like General Levy and Tippa Irie. Having ascended the bass music ranks with startling speed, Rollz is quickly garnering the attention of all the right people with his intricate, emotive and powerful productions. The past year Rollz has become an increasingly prominent force in bass music, picking up support from a number of heavy hitters including BBC Radio One tastemakers Zane Lowe and Annie Mac. Now capping off a stellar year this prodigious talent is returning to Pilot Records with his new ‘Firepod’ EP released on 26th November.

EP opener ‘Alive’ featuring Takura showcases just why there is so much excitement surrounding this thoroughly uncategorizable producer and has been championed as a staple in Knife Party’s sets over the summer. Open on a soft wash of melody and the soulful vocals of Takura, the track’s breakdown unravels into a heavy 4/4 stomp and a splayed bassline that reverberates through the track. For those whole like their beats pure, the EP also comes with the instrumental for additional club artillery. Up next, ‘Isotonic’s’ shimmering synths are quickly absorbed into a high energy blend of concrete drums and growling bass, aided by the deft melodic flourishes. ‘Triple A’ opens softly with its sweeping pads and ethereal flickering synths, disappearing into silence only to emerge with a renewed energy as Rollz unleashes tight drum & bass breaks, burrowing bass and flashes of colour. Completing the package, ‘Madrid’ eases in with an introduction full of street life ambience evocative of the hustle and bustle of city sounds and textures. The delicate piano melody and soft female vocal emerge from this ether before the record spontaneously dives into an upbeat dance floor filler backed by rolling bass and bumpy grooves. 

The five-track ‘Firepod’ EP is a collection of finely tuned records that blend an eclectic array of influences, reinvented as something entirely new and unique. With the young producer being tipped for greatness by a number of electronic music’s heavyweights, with over five million hits on YouTube, with music on Pilot Records, Hospital, Ministry of Sound, and even 21st Century Fox, Rollz has earned his respected reputation and is set to continue his ascent right through 2013. Having recently remixed Example’s next track ‘Close Enemies’ and Labrinth & Emeli Sande’s number 1 track ‘Beneath Your Beautiful’, Rollz’s production talent is in high demand.
