it's been a minute. this recording isn't v strong or stable but I just wanted to share a lil reflection. We really can be the change y'all

dysmorphic microcosms made our molehills cosmic problems
they think we’re lost. I think we’re on to something 
I know the cost is comfort
the screens that raised us 
made us blind to life behind them
Yet we’re still surprised to pull back the curtain 
and find ourselves sat silent - why?
Undeniably, apathy is violence

In the cold sweat we could have frozen
Instead, with resolve, chose to focus,
so zone in on whats scaring you. 
Shoulders may shake, that quick nerve quaking 
the face of your future, vague.
Maybe it don’t seem see through 
maybe opaque things are meant to tame us 
but levees are bound to break too.

For the sake of brevity, there lies one simple 
remedy to the sickness;
don’t leave the rest of this game to chance,
impartial, blame like pass the parcel 
pick the pen and take up arms.
Your impermanence should spur you
to weaponise your words
And let the knowledge that you learn permeate the surface
Complacency is an urge you must ignore

Let your brazen heart speak for you
Whilst they bore with
Self serving platitudes 
on silver platters, with matching spoons 
goons that have never seen a food bank
Haggle over the price of hospital beds
the prospect could be dreadful 
but we’re not there yet 
and we’re not so easily led by their hubris
tear down the fence 
make common ground make common sense
Who said the kids were clueless?
It’s our time now to do
