Shoddy leaders lead us with already forgotten dreams

Feds asking who's hooligan is this?

Shotting up outside the police station
Waiting, faking feeling that he's feeling nothing
He's bluffing, his history's enough to get him blushing.
Because mother found it harder to breathe when father he started to leave,
now she's pulling on the part of his sleeve where his heart used to be dragging hers through the streets
while a little boy is watching in inverted belief,
inadvertently learning what a family means
in his teens, easier nurturing pipes than a dream

But it's hope that he's teeming with, 
to break from the shackles of the backwards town that he's dealing in.
Fiending for change, 
in the dark, feeling his way for the path,
that will lead him to a brighter day.
