Sorted is a huge fan of the next dj for our Sorted Series mix, Despise (@despise-byte)! As the boss woman of Denver's long standing DNB crew Recon (@recon-dnb), Maggie is always pushing the boundaries of bass music playing sets that range from halftime, dnb, jungle, footwork, 130 and more.  When she put this set together, she knew we would eat it up over here at Sorted so it only made sense to release it in the Sorted Series!

Future Beats Radio Show 07-07-16

A few weeks ago I played an incredible party called Promise Cherry Beach in Toronto which turned out to be one of my favorite gigs of the entire year. Not only was it super rewarding to play at sunset on the water to a really enthusiastic crowd, but it felt like I could go everywhere musically; to me, this is one of the most "quintessential Jeep sets" ever recorded. From housey daytime jams to deeper rhythmic dubstep mutations to peak time jungle to cap off the night, there's a little something for everyone in here. An old-school Toronto dude who grew up in the early 90s rave scene, Derek FoReeL moved to BC after high school to be a full time snowboard bum/DJ. After years of developing the ski resort party scene scratching up sounds of underground Hip-Hop, House and DnB, Derek disappeared back into the big city to grow his musical experience. Now Derek FoReeL is back on the Best Coast and has returned to his roots of Hardcore Jungle Techno intertwined with UK Garage which he has termed "Garage-Core!". A unique nu-rave yet retro vibe that feels very familiar in a way that you have never heard before.
