Hi friends,
It's been a while, so here's the first 4 hours from my set at Stereo Montreal
Just a few words about that night: First of all, I had high expectations about playing in that legendary room. So many great DJs have played there, and many consider it the best club in the world. 
From the moment I started playing a few records, I found myself drawn to improvise to a more hypnotic, patient storytelling vibe rather than a straightforward approach. The amazing crowd made me feel like I could really take my time to build things up, so that’s exactly what I did—dark, hypnotic house & techno with groove.

This set starts off with some Organic House at around 117 bpm.  The tempo slowly picks up to 122 bpm about an hour in as I transition to Afro House and then finish off with some Progressive and Melodic tracks.  Generally, I played nine tracks before going through 80% of "Dan's Radio 007" setlist, then played another 20 some tracks after.  This set steadily picks up in energy and goes for nearly 4 hours.  This was DJ'd live at Craft Connoisseur's on May the Fourth!

What Is Music

This episode leans deeper.

Dan’s Radio 011 is for the after-hours crowd, the introspective drivers, the ones chasing something a little more hypnotic.  I took the four most intense tracks from Dan's Radio 008 and made a set even more intense.  Where episode 008 calmed down, I cranked it up here. It’s a blend of deep and immersive rhythms, melodic tension, and synth-driven storytelling, music that simmers, creeps, and eventually overtakes you.

This set doesn’t push for the spotlight. It creates space for movement, for thought, for getting lost in the layers. Heavier, darker, and more refined than previous chapters, episode 011 wasn't about where my ear is at, it's just what I wanted to play that night, underground, intentional, dialed in.

Standout tracks:

French 79 – Quartz (this track scored my the most breath taking time lapse I've ever captured: the Northern Lights, after snowmobiling through the night into the mountains)

CamelPhat & Will Easton – Witching Hour (when the bass drops, it doesn't ask permission, it comes in swinging like a boxer throwing punches, ready or not)

The Chemical Brothers – The Private Psychedelic Reel (Surrender was the first EDM album I purchased in 1999, and then this track sealed the deal)

And a closing track that offers a tongue-in-cheek nod to when things don’t go as planned, but still end strong.

Built not for hype, but for heads.

Summer Mix 2019

If art decorates space, music decorates time. As a DJ-this is just a hobby-my goal in recording sets is to create a soundtrack to life: theme music for my adventures. I embrace an inclusive approach to genres, refusing to limit myself to any specific style; my broad taste allows me to explore many types of music, ensuring a unique experience for every set.

These sets take the listener on a journey-not my journey, but yours. It could be a voyage in your mind or a hike with headphones on. I am just a messenger who curates a selection of songs created by very talented producers.

Sometimes, the tracks I select resonate with the emotions I am feeling. Other times, I read the room, and my goal is to create an enjoyable experience for the audience. Often, I discover a new favorite track that really slaps, and I include it in a set so I can enjoy it fully, along with complementary tracks leading up to the new favorite, guiding the listener back into Earth's orbit afterward.

Recently, I crafted "Dan's Radio 008" as a thoughtful gift, featuring a favorite track, "I Can't Save You," alongside my personal favorite, "Salve in the Mist." This mix isn't just about the music; it’s a harmonious bridge that captures my creativity and passion.

By the way, I am a Civil Engineer by profession. My journey has taught me the value of community and togetherness, reflecting my desire to connect with others through the universal language of music. I hope you enjoy the sounds, and I'd love to hear your feedback.
