When creating a new song most of the time I start out with jamming and creating sounds and melodies. In search of something that goes well together. Sometimes it comes out of the blue and spontaneous. And it encourages you to go further. Also in life it works like that. Certain things we can’t control. Our destiny that finds us eventually.

I’m a full-time engineer, but I’ve been making music for 40-plus years. I studied jazz drums and Spanish guitar, and now I make music as both producer and guitar player.

I love instrumental rock and hip-hop and electronic music — especially when they start to overlap. To me, music should share electricity, and have a dynamic, stratified blend of styles.

I use Ableton DAW, add Moog and Arturia synthesizers, play guitar, and dive head over heels into the creative process. I really treasure the ancient power of music.

Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Anjunadeep music are some of my main influences.

During their first spontaneous b2b-sessions in 2018, Marcel & Linus quickly developed a special flow with each other that they just couldn't ignore: UN/POLISHED was born. After successful outings to a variety of Berlin's underground institutions, they found themselves in the studio during the covid lockdown to create their own sound: raw, fast-paced and acid-driven, yet never forgetting their house music roots.
