The A-side sets the tone: Non-Cyclic’s magnetic opener and JSPRV35’s seismic drive lead into SERA J’s blend of analog warmth and future groove. The B-side dives deeper with William Arist’s shadowed mood, Flits’ surgical precision, and DJ Dextro’s radiant release.

Tension builds on the C-side through Tarkno’s layered pressure and Vinicius Honorio’s hypnotic storm, closing with Mees Javois’ raw, floor-born energy. Belgian duo Pulse.ar drop their debut EP 'Storyteller' on Say What?. Hypnotic grooves and raw sound design are key in this release, Pulse.ar craft five deep, rolling cuts that merge emotional tension with relentless energy, showing their unmistakable command of the modern techno spectrum.

The title track opens the journey with hypnotic precision — a rolling, analog-fueled groove layered with evolving percussive details and subtle atmospheres. It feels like a story told through rhythm rather than words, where every modulation and filter sweep becomes part of an emotional progression. It’s the kind of track that locks a dancefloor in motion while drawing the listener inward, setting the tone for what’s to come.

On 'Dagga', tribal elements emerge with a heavier rhythmic swing and smoky atmosphere. The drums feel alive, pushing forward with a magnetic, primal energy. There’s an earthy warmth beneath the grit — the kind of rolling techno that bridges classic and modern influences, perfect for deep warehouse moments.

'No Way Back' raises the intensity with driving low-end power and sharp, minimal percussion. It’s relentless yet deeply hypnotic, built for long, immersive sets where the groove takes full control. Pulse.ar layers subtle synth movements that rise and fall like breathing — giving the track a sense of organic life within its raw machine framework.

Next, 'Not Here' pushes further into darker territory. Built around a pulsating drums and mechanical groove, it creates a tension-filled landscape full of delayed textures and shadowy energy. The track captures that feeling of being lost in the moment — not here, not anywhere — just floating in a timeless loop between light and dark.

Finally, 'Why Unfold' closes the EP with introspective grace. — a deep-groove journey that reveals Pulse.ar’s cinematic side. Here, the artist shows the vulnerability behind the toughness, as shimmering pads and ghostly chords melt over grounded percussion, leaving the listener with a lingering sense of reflection and closure.

Jen Cruz’s first release for Ben Sims’ Hardgroove imprint is the four-track ‘Criteria’ EP which is released on December 12th, 2025. Tarragona-born and Barcelona-raised, Cruz has made a name for herself in the city’s clubs over the past eight years while translating that rep overseas via releases on LW Recordings and Raw Quarter DGTL. Having recently played a Hardgroove showcase at Razzmatazz, Cruz first release for the long-running Hardgroove label is well-timed.

Kicking off with ‘Without Criteria’, Cruz’s ‘Criteria’ EP oozes energy and movement. From the cascading stabs of the opener to the rattling percussion and vocal clips of ‘Yes To Everything’, Cruz has a knack for the memorable without sacrificing depth or pace. Even when stripping things back in ‘Own Your Voice’ or taking a more full-on approach in ‘It’s All About Music’, this is an artist firmly in charge of her tools.
