Luigi Madonna’s record label Contempo drops an EP by Marc Faengerthat’sraw and driving techno with trippyatmosphere.

Contempo is an uncompromising record label thatallows Luigi Madonna to show off the more underground side of his sound, and the new release is an imprintdebut from Marc Faengerwho’s a German artistthatearly in his career wassigned to Richie Hawtin’s record label M_NUS.

Marc Faenger’searlyminimal releases propelledhimonto the international stage, and opened the door for him to DJ at places like Fabric, Sisyphos, Fuse and more. In the following years Marc Faenger’s tracks gottougher and more aggressive, as he movedtowards up-tempo techno releases on labels suchasIllegal Alien Records and hisown Shed Skin.

“Opal” opens the release with retellingpercussionrhythms and a booming kick drumthatform a foundation for rolling industrial textures thatripple with modulation. “Triple Threat” is a percussive track with flowingpercussion and tense atmosphere and rumbling sub-bass. “Zinn” is a hypnotic track with buzzing synths and judderingpercussionthat’s heavy enough to make the walls shake. “Probe” closes out the release with brutalpercussion and gritty sound design that’sshrouded in trippyatmospherics.

The established Turkish DJ and Producer Ugur Project delivers a three-course collection of unrelenting techno stormers on his ‘Footwork EP’ for Eats Everything & Andres Campo’s EI8HT imprint.

With the pedal to the metal, Ugur Project takes no prisoners, with all three compositions refusing to provide a let-up on the throttle; ‘Footwork’ sets the tone as warping synth tones, huge warehouse rave stabs & fierce toms dance around a metronomic, booming kick drum. ‘Unprocessed’ sees a turn towards an intense storm of claps and key stabs, a concoction sure to awaken the rhythm in and amongst any dancefloor. 

The hypnotising patterns of ‘High Pressure’ round off Ugur Project’s impressive collection of club bangers, equipped with a rumbling, catchy groove, complemented by licks of synth work and tidy percussion hits.

Markantonio's record label, AnalyticTrail continues its black series with an analogue techno release by B. Riley.

B. Riley is an American artist known for his dark and driving releases on labels ranging from Chris Liebing's CLR and Jewel Kid's Alleanza to his own imprint, CMND CTRL.

Based in Florida, B. Riley's style blends bleeping synth tones and raw percussion sounds to create hypnotic grooves with industrial undertones. He is a well-known DJ within Florida's underground club scene and his productions translate his extensive knowledge of how to captivate a dance floor.

"By A Thread" opens the release with eerie tension and fast-flowing percussion that unfolds with building suspense. "Not In Zone" lifts the intensity with its menacing synth line and thrashing hi-hats that layer with modulating chord stabs. "Speed Skater" has gritty sound design and broken beat percussion rhythms layered with flickers of acid. "The Spiral" closes out the release with dystopian atmospherics layered over tense pads and hard-hitting percussion.
