Having signed exclusively to Proximity earlier in the year, North London based duo Tephra & Arkoze are back with their second release with us! They proudly present a devastating single titled The Lions Den / Pressure!  

The Lions Den certainly does what it says on the tin as this aggressive number keeps the listener well aware of their surroundings with its weighty drums, heavy bassline and growling vibes. Approach with caution! On the flip the boys feature the vocal talents of Innate MC with Pressure! A much more mellower vibe here but the tracks still ticks all the boxes when it comes to craftsmanship, nasty beats and tasty basslines! The vocals are the icing on the cake with this one!

The AA side is from Seattle US. The mighty Quadrant join the forces with the wife Iris, to complete a deep bass vibe track, which reminded us the old Jungle days but in a modern look. True family affair!

Premiere: Jem One 'Transpose' [Metalheadz]

Lost the Plot is an emerging record label and since the beginning they’ve strived to shine a spotlight on up-coming talent throughout the drum & bass scene. And since their debut release in 2018, they’ve been continually raising their own benchmark, something which isn’t looking to stop any time soon, especially with the artists they’re welcoming into their roster. For their forthcoming single they’re igniting the Slovakian powers of Sulex and his newly founded collaborative project Zound, existing alongside the production heavyweight M2K. They’ve come together for a mind-bending double-sided single release, featuring the type of no-holds-barred dance music which Lost the Plot are becoming renowned for. 
 
It’s a-side demonstrates the unforgiving talents of Zound with their fully submerging, growling roller ‘Resound’. The sizzling bass patches which are peppered throughout help to launch its dark and eerie vibe, keeping your guard up but still allowing you to embrace the bombardment of its weight. With the intimidating levels of bass in this track, it’s ready to shake the dancefloors across the globe, especially following its release onto an unsuspecting audience. This track is a clear representation of the damage that can be done by two producers like M2K and Sulex, proving that Zound is a collaborative effort which you should keep an eye on over the coming months. 

The flip side shows us Sulex debuting his solo alias on Lost the Plot, delivering a reverberating tech slicer with his track ‘Acid’. Whether he is alone or under the Zound name, this producer shouldn’t be taken lightly. The track lifts off with the same murky and biting cinematic tones which continue the theme from the single’s starting track. As the kicks start to pulsate, you are lifted through its rafts of intricate layering. With flavour and dynamic ‘Acid’ is one track that’ll leave you gasping for more, the impact which Zound wanted to make having just debuted their new project. 
These tracks show the primary reason as to why Lost the Plot are becoming well-known for their unforgiving, unwatered down releases. And with more to come from the producers, the label and its roster, it’s looking to be another colossal year for Lost the Plot.

Renowned for their own distinctive sounds, the next release on Dispatch Recordings brings together two producers with their own unique take on drum and bass. Perfectly complimenting the other’s style, the three tracks that make up DIS150 reveal a creative pairing that we hope to see more of.

‘Enhanced Realism’ strips back complex production methods to enhance the key components of old distorted Emu breaks, classic filters and short verbs to give us that classic ‘warehouse’ tonality.

For ‘Perpetual Motion’ Wreckless shows us his first foray in to a less syncopated style, maximising the straight step grooves that Brain does so well. The bass seems to continually fall throughout the track, working in contrast with the groove for maximum effect.

‘Incendio’ is a minimal stepper packed with a dirty acid filter bass, and that trademark Wreckless syncopation carries throughout the track, rounded nicely with deep pads and the minimal flavours Brain is known for. Perhaps the standout track on the release this really one captures both producer’s individual styles well.

Hailing from Suffolk, Conrad Subs - real name Adam Krolik - has been progressively building his reputation with releases on labels including Ten Ton, Deep In The Jungle, Original Key, Sub Heavy Audio and Nuusic. After featuring on our last two compilations  (5 Years of Soulvent and Winter Soul 2019), we’re pleased to announce the debut EP from the man himself.

Opener DIY Soul kicks things off with a fairly sparse intro; fuzzy pads and filtered drums give way to serious bass and a tasteful click-break. The varied percussion on display gives the track a versatile flavour and definitely aligns with its tongue-in-cheek title. 

On You opens on some super catchy vocals, while the steppy groove lays down nothing but funk. The wide synths and punchy percussive elements throughout create a hypnotic quality that is a welcome element to the EP. 

Title track In Heaven is nothing short of angelic, blissful liquid. Bouncy pads, effect laden vocals and raspy drums collide with thrumming bass and swelling, dreamlike bursts of atmosphere in lush duality. 

Awareness rounds out this well balanced EP with a very minimal affair, complete with a sense of dystopian future thanks to the eerie vocal sample and foreboding intro. Lurching bass and seemingly screaming synths meet under the light of tight percussion, resulting in a dark, subby roller that will definitely conjure bass faces.

UTTERSOUNDS & DYZLEXIC team up to deliver their single VIPER as the latest release on IN:DEEP MUSIC packed back to back with a remix from GLYPH. Each well known within the Australian drum & bass community, UTTERSOUNDS & DYZLEXIC have more than two decades of combined experience within their country’s scene, from UTTERSOUNDS radio show “The Ones & Twos” and previous releases on labels like Santoku, and Boey Audio, to DYZLEXIC’s long term hosting for bass music events including Twisted Audio, Dark Riddims, and Snakepit sound. Belgian remixers GLŸPH bring with them a similar pedigree of releases on labels including ProgRAM, Overview, and Symmetry since the project’s founding in 2009. 

UTTERSOUNDS & DYZLEXIC’s VIPER marks the single’s A-side with a soundscape of darkened metallic timbres pierced by a razor sharp combination of DYZLEXIC’s expert lyrical delivery and UTTERSOUNDS striking snares atop the backing of a brooding bassline. GLŸPH then inject the original with an infusion of tensioned tech, searing the track’s bassline with intensified high harmonics and emboldening the former’s stealthy drumbeat with further intertwined percussive sequences.

With their single VIPER, UTTERSOUNDS & DYZLEXIC deliver a subtly edged cut of umbral drum and bass coiled to strike darkened dancefloors worldwide, which is followed by GLŸPH’s deft distortion of the track’s tones for a remix that emerges further from the shadows. Taken together, the single’s twin tracks strike home on IN:DEEP MUSIC amidst the label's definitive catalogue of depth focused drum & bass.

Adepth, 25 years old DJ from Prague, The Czech Republic. He started mixing the music in 2013 thanks to a friend. After hours and hours spent behind the mix counter and playing at little events, first initial achievements are coming – winning several contests, playing at bigger events and last but not least, admission to the DarkSide Records that significantly changed his DJ career. Over the time he was playing in most of the clubs, big or small, all around the country, at Let It Roll festival, also in other countries like Germany, and played with such famous names like The Clamps, Dc Breaks, Prolix, Tr Tactics, Cod3x, Disphonia, Disprove, Zombie Cats and many more.
