Collaborating with Nightcrawlers, Rozalla, Kathy Brown and Abigail Bailey, his original productions have been released by labels Tropical Disco, Midnight Riot, Tropical Velvet, Spa In Disco, Bombstrikes and Blockhead, and he regularly produces albums exclusively for Mastermix, Europe’s largest DJ-only music pool.
 
Behind the decks he’s supported The Chemical Brothers, Odyssey, Norman Jay, Freemasons, Lenny Fontana, DJ Yoda, Jazzie B, Scratch Perverts and Grant Nelson, playing for renowned brands Hed Kandi, Ministry Of Sound and Wilderness Festival, and is resident DJ for popular 80’s, 90’s & Disco event Vivid People.

PIANOMAN - From '90s Dance Icon to 2025 House Visionary
Most music fans recognize the name PIANOMAN from the iconic '90s dance anthem "BLURRED" – the genre-defining track that brilliantly sampled Damon Albarn's vocal from Blur's "Girls And Boys," becoming a staple of the era's rave culture.
For those immersed in the '90s dance scene, PIANOMAN's legacy extends far beyond that breakthrough hit. Tracks such as "Cast A Spell" and "Whitney Tune" cemented James's reputation as one of the decade's most innovative producers, leading to major label deals with Ministry Of Sound, Universal Music, Armada Music, Trick Records, and Storm Music, among others.
What remains lesser known is James's extensive career as a lyricist and songwriter spanning over three decades since 1991. Behind the scenes, he has crafted songs for numerous artists and vocalists across multiple dance genres, writing authentic narratives about life, love, and the human experiences that connect us all. His compositions draw from personal truth – when it happened to him, it has happened to others – creating an emotional resonance that transcends the dancefloor.
"Shine For You" exemplifies this deeply personal approach showcasing his evolution from sample-based production to emotionally driven original song writing.

Barry Harris was the first club DJ in the world to write, produce and perform a Worldwide Top 5 hit; “I Beg Your Pardon” by an act he named Kon Kan.

“I Beg Your Pardon”, became an international Top 5 hit around the world, garnering a Juno Award (Canadian Grammy) for Best Dance Recording in 1990.

In 1998 Barry relocated to Los Angeles to mastermind the remix team Thunderpuss producing more than 40 #1 Billboard Dance remixes including hits for major label recording artists Madonna, Britney Spears, Whitney Houston, Jennifer Lopez, Cher, Mary J. Blige, Celine Dion & Donna Summer to name a few.

Barry is best known for Whitney Houston’s Top 5 global hit, “It’s Not Right But It’s Okay” which remains in steady rotation today as well as "Dive In The Pool (Let's Get Soakin' Wet). 
Also winner of 2 IDMA Awards best remixer of the year at WMC and another IDMA Award for Best Underground Dance Record of the Year.
