You Rock, David! Under-the-skin vox an guitars delivery, my friend!

This is a work in progress, as I work towards my 250,000 plays milestone. The 3 main categories I mainly play in are rock/metal (cheating: one category), ambient/soundtrack and synth/electronic. I think I'll do PB playlists with 60 tracks each.

I include some of my favourite collaborations.

Global Hysteria

Loosely based on the 'Duelling Banjos' scene from the film Deliverance. I thought it would be fun to make a track where a banjo has to duel a rock guitar.

In my track the banjo starts out dominated by the electric guitar. After some frantic banjo playing in the first half I felt that the banjo just took over and...for me at least....it's the banjo that tells the story and the rock guitar that ends up as the backing track.

Of course, there's always another day...

Nomads Of The Void

it's been an absolute age since I last did a full vocal. Recent events inspired me, as I couldn't put aside my anger with those who would maim or kill for a book.

Believe what you like about your sacred text, but it doesn't justify injuring or killing anyone.

I Wanna Be A Rock Star (But I'm Never Gonna Be) - with Persito

I created the rock backing track using Apple loops...quite a complicated one but very satisfying to a rocker like me. Then I added the vocals (with a touch of reverb and echo) and dacca rock guitar (double tracked, and slightly staggered in places for delay effect). And a touch of manual drum kit drumming to supplement the 4 Apple loop drum tracks already used.

I love rock.

Around 2000 I came up with this idea that I should start a project called Bleak Guitar - a mostly instrumental "band" that would bring together all my preferences for shimmering guitars, dream pop, goth, darkwave, postrock, folk etc. It never happened - until now. 
This track, Nightlight, is an exception: It was recorded in 2002 -  having in mind it should fit the Bleak Guitar project
