The Problem

Angolan-born and UK-raised, Antonio Da Costa (formerly known as Shaduno / AV The Pharaoh) blends electronic, R&B and urban influences with the rhythms and storytelling of his Angolan heritage. He first emerged as a vocalist on Hollaphonic’s breakout debut single I Don’t Want It to End, before shifting into songwriting and ghost-writing for other artists, refining a sound defined by emotion, melody and atmosphere.

After years working across A&R, engineering and artist development — including time with Shinecity and New Money Records — Da Costa returned to his own artistry with a renewed vision shaped by resilience, fatherhood and personal transformation. Having overcome periods of severe depression and anxiety, his music now leans into vulnerability, cultural identity and a deep commitment to independence.

Today, Da Costa continues to evolve his sonic identity while championing emerging talent and building cross-genre, international collaborations. His upcoming work marks a new chapter: honest, textured, and rooted in the journey that shaped him.
