Bem-Vindo! Brazilian Beat Brooklyn is a weekly party thrown at a bar called Black Betty just over the East River from Manhattan, in New York City. DJs Sean Marquand and Greg Caz preside over the long-running party (5 years) where they consistently play strictly vintage Brazilian records. In addition to the party and other DJ ventures, Sean is known as half of Embassy Sound Productions. He brought his team down to Brazil to help resurrect Black Rio legends Uniao Black for a new release. By invitation, Greg has DJ'd at some of the hottest Brazilian parties around the globe.

So we were playing ‘Dirty Dancing’ with Dephicit the other day - which essentially involves Summer Bright standing in the centre of the dancefloor whilst we run at her and she holds us up in the air like Patrick Swyaze holding aloft a beautiful swan. After about 6 hours Summer Bright said we were too heavy and could we stop but Dephicit screamed ‘Nobody puts Baby in the Corner!’ and ran at her again. Instead of lifting him up she created another dimension which he ran straight into it and is trapped there on the musical naughty step. These past couple of months have been a huge growing period for me on a personal and artistic level. After going through a really bad break up, I made a rash decision to move to LA and crash on couches until I got a place. It’s been 4 months now and I feel blessed to wake up here every single day and be able to work with some of the most talented, genuine people in the world. I am truly coming into my own lately and have been living every second of my life with love and passion, and that is being reflected in my music. I stopped caring about what people think, stopped worrying about following the rules and started to make whatever feels good to me. So with that being said, I really hope the direction I’ve been working towards makes you as happy as it makes me ❤️

Carla Bruni’s fourth album, Little French Songs, will be released on April 16th 2013 via Verve Records. The first single from the album, “Chez Keith et Anita,” will be released digitally in the US on February 26th.  PRESS HERE to stream the song now. Little French Songs, written and performed in French, English and Italian, is the follow up to Carla’s 2008 critically acclaimed Comme si de rien n’etait (As if Nothing Had Happened) which debuted at #1 in both the Billboard European Top 100 Albums Charts and the French Album Charts. Bruni’s touch is immediately apparent in these new compositions that once again focus on raw emotions and love.
 
Little French Songs was recorded by Bénédicte Schmitt at Labomatic Studios in Paris and it features eight original compositions by Carla Bruni. Album track, “Priere” was co-written by Carla and longtime friend and collaborator Julien Clerc.“Dolce Francia” is an Italian adaptation of Charles Trenet’s “Douce France” and “Valse Posthume” is written by Chopin, with lyrics written by Carla Bruni.  
 
Carla Bruni has been writing and performing music since 1997. In the late 1990s, Bruni changed direction when she decided to launch a music career, first as a songwriter for Julien Clerc, for whom she wrote several songs for his album Si j’étais elle (If I Were Her), then as a singer-songwriter-for her first album, Quelqu’un m’a dit (Someone Told Me), released in 2002. Composed with the help of Louis Bertignac, who also produced the album, Quelqu’un m’a dit was an instant hit. Acclaimed by critics, the album sold two million copies. In 2003, Bruni won the Prix Raoul Breton, awarded by SACEM (French association of songwriters and composers) to recognize and encourage an up-and-coming songwriter or composer. She was awarded the Victoire de la Musique for Best Female Artist the same year. In  January 2007, Bruni released her second album, No Promises, which set English poems to music. Among the poets she selected were Yeats, Auden, Emily Dickinson, Christina Rossetti, Walter de la Mare and Dorothy Parker. This second work, which sold more than 400,000 copies worldwide, shot to the top of the charts in both France and Europe. Her third album was released 2008 and was entitled Comme si de rien n’était (As If Nothing Happened), the title of a photographic work by her brother Virginio Bruni Tedeschi that appears in the album’s booklet.

'' The Cranky Monkey '' was hosted on the Athenian Radio Milk and Chocolate.
In 2019 the show changed home and is now hosted by Paranoise Radio (Thessaloniki) to this day.
