Volume 1 came out just over a year ago, and started as a simple dj mix that outlined my favorite music, sound and overall vibe. The music that moves me physically and emotionally, more than most. It got such great feedback that I’ve decided to make a series out of these mixes. Each one will not only showcase various mixing techniques of mine, but also the emotions and feelings deep within me at the time of recording, while continuing to stay true to the style that I started with. These mixes will embody the exact title of the series. How Im Feelin.

Produced and arranged solely by record collector and beatsmith, Rhett Whatley, The Darkness Before Dawn was recorded in Atlanta over the cold, wet winter and spring of 2014/15. This project features some of Daily Bread’s most inspired material.

“I was really focused on bringing some of the sadder, depression-dripped tones out of my record collection with this LP” Whatley explains. The songs tell tales of love lost, never-ending rain storms, late night encounters, and restless minds. I really made something that has a lot of life in it.”

"All The Pretty Lights" - Features 24 of the original samples featured in 16 different Pretty Lights songs. None of the PL songs themselves were touched or used to create this flip. The track was all recreated/remixed using the original breaks that Pretty Lights featured in his own tracks.

I wanted to create something fresh that honored his music in a tasteful but new way, while highlighting some of my favorite songs of his, through the breaks he dug up and used.
