გვიანდელ 80-იანებსა და ადრეულ 90-იანებში, მაშინ, როდესაც დიდი ბრიტანეთი Acid House-მა შეიპყრო, და, იმავდროულად, ნოტების ბნელ ტონალობებში, პოსტ-პანკურ ეპოქაში Joy Division-ის, Bauhaus-ისა და The Cure-ის მუსიკით ჩაიძირა, კლუბებში, პირატულ რადიოსა და ბლუზ წვეულებებზე Street Soul დაიბადა. რეჯითა და ჰიპ-ჰოპით ინსპირირებული ბასი და დრამები, მინიმალისტური, ნედლი და დაუმუშავებელი ხმები, და ტკბილი ვოკალი საკმაოდ პატარა სცენაზე პროგრესირდა Street Soul-ად. მიუხედავად ამ ჟანრისთვის დამახასიათებელი სიმსუბუქისა და სიმშვიდისა, Street Soul თვით-იდენტიფიკაციისთვის იბრძოდა. A Daira  is a medium-sized frame drum with jingles, used to accompany both popular and classical music in Iran , Azerbaijan  the Caucasus, the Balkans, and many Central Asian countries such as Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Frame drums are also popular in many regions of Georgia, like Kartli, Kakheti, Tusheti, Samegrelo, Racha, and Imereti.  It is most often used for keeping the rhythm in Macedonian folk songs and dances, and also in traditional Macedonian rituals, like wedding ceremony
