For this episode of Shivercast we are thrilled to welcome Rosa Kammermeier aka Rosa Red. Rosa‘s love for spherey, dreamy sounds is rooted in her teenage passion for Shoegaze and Post-Punk and her musical beginnings playing bass and djing at psychedelic funk parties in Munich. 

Nowadays, Rosa is frequently djing at Blitz Club in Munich and has recently launched her debut EP „Feels“ on Permanent Vacation. 

The set Rosa recorded for us takes you on a genre-bending journey. It shows her very developed taste into more intense electronic music, sitting somewhere between techno, breaks & bits of bass - all while staying on the more sophisticated, leftfield and experimental side. Enjoy!

As we step into the rhythm of 2024, Loser Records celebrates its 5th anniversary! Come join us for the kickoff of another year of our beloved Loser Podcast series and let Rosa Red help you transcend your winter blues and start into the new year with fresh energy. A perfect warmup for her upcoming appearance at Nachtiville Festival happening January 19th to 22nd at Weissenhäuser Strand.

Rosa Red's musical beginnings lie in the psychedelic and spherical niches of Rock as well as learning her craft by playing Bass and Singing in Post Punk and Shoegaze Bands.

Exploring what the music universe also had to offer, Rosa soon got immersed in the vast world of electronic music and found herself trading the bass guitar with turntables.

Fascinated by the variety of styles and possibilities, this newfound world had to offer, the Berlin based artist took her musical journey to House, Breakbeat and Rave euphoria, while sitting comfortably between genres. You can hear her broad range in her DJ sets (which made her a regular at Munich's super club Blitz and a staple in Berlin's nightlife circle) and in her productions. The logical progression from playing music to making music led Rosa to her first two EPs landing, both of which landed on planet Permanent Vacation, who share a tight bond and a musical vision with Rosa Red. 

Recently, she remixed Known Artists Hit ‚I Need‘ and released a Remix Version of her EP ‚Rhapsody‘ featuring Aldonna, Known Artist and Zombies in Miami. For this mix, she focused on the housy side of her collection.

She also very recently made a stunning remix of Known Artist on their first vinyl ep.

@sedefadasi's style is impossible to pin down. Embarking on her sonic journey, she fearlessly navigates her craft through a multifaceted universe of rhythms and genres, captivating dance floors with her everlasting groove and electrifying embrace. The best place to experience this rollercoaster is her own monthly HAMAM party at City club in Augsburg where she has invited plenty of international guests to join her. The Turkey-born, Germany-based artist is also a resident at Blitz Music Club and is set to join us at Dekmantel Selectors later in the summer, but first comes this week's podcast. 

It launches in seductive fashion with the moonlit deep house of Chicagoan Ben 'Cosmo' D then cruises through smooth but punchy grooves that stay low and bring hints of old-school cool in the basslines, stabs and drum breaks. Adasi's shift through the gears is almost imperceptible here as the pace quickens and the drums grow more physical. That is a testament to not only her smart selections but also to her ability to thread together these sounds quite so seamlessly.

About The Mix:
I recorded the mix when i was in a really energetic and happy mood, a hint of spring and finally some sun in Berlin! I wanted to include my fav current peak time tracks in this mix, with lots of percussions and tribal-y vibes. Often I need several takes for a mix, but i was happy with this one from the first take on, i liked the flow and energy. After I recorded the mix, I knew I had to send it to Daisychain – somehow I had a gut feeling this could be a fit – and am so happy that Leesh really wanted to publish it!! <3 Thank you :)

"I would love to say that I recorded this on a whim without planning, but realistically I spent a while refining the set list to properly encapsulate what a more “driving” and “rolling” Aiden Francis set sounds like compared to previous mixes. For this mix I veered towards a truly progressive journey - working our way up through different energy levels and textures, and withholding explosive energy until we reach a peak in the final stages of the mix.

I like to see my sets as a deep ocean dive, starting out light and fun to start then quickly dipping into deeper territories and slowly bringing ourselves back up for that release of energy - hopefully this sentiment translates well whilst listening. And if none of that connects then I hope you enjoy it anyway xoxo"

@aidenfrancis is a vibrant presence surfing the Manchester scene and beyond, following a string of releases on the likes of Magic Carpet, Duality Trax, Gestalt, Radiant Records and Houseum. The only way is up for this avid record collector and his eclectic sound that undulates between soft-electro, trance, tech-house whilst always keeping his fingers dipped into progressive.
