Here is the recording of my set at The CHILL OUT GARDENS of BOOM FESTIVAL
A dream for many Dj and Artist .... The Gardens at the BOOM is considered a milestone in their careers

The set itself is a combination of different styles (mainly psychedelic) and waves melted together in a journey that I hope will make sense to you.
I was asked to play quite a chill set but could not resist to bring the energy up for a few short stages along the journey.

Hard to put in words the excitement and the overwhelming feelings for playing at such a stage.
So I will just express my deepest gratitude here to Golan Bayawaka for the connection and trust, to Osman Gayatree for the input back in the days to Shay Barbalat for his brotherhood , to all the dancers who were in front of me and to all the Boomers for their beauty.

Last but not least to all the artists who created the music in this journey. They are the core of the music we dance and chill to, full support and respect for their wrk and art.

Twice In Nature

DJ Chris Case was a regular at many Tokyo chill-out rooms in the 1990s, including the legendary Odyssey parties at Club Token. One of the older faces on the scene, he represented a connection between the psychedelic 90s and the psychedelic 60s, and he offered a lot of arcane knowledge when it came to music theory. 
Chris passed away last year, and I’m uploading this mix in his memory.. I don’t keep a lot of DJ mixes, but I’ve had this CDR for 30 years now, and remarkably it still played. I’m not sure exactly when Chris mixed this, but I would guess late 1995. Most of the music is from Silent Records, which was one of the premier ambient labels based in San Francisco in the 90s. This is a live recording of my Ecstatic Dance set at the soul retreat “Treatment Gathering,” held on May 10th, 2025.

The journey begins with a gentle ceremonial atmosphere, gradually building into deep and uplifting grooves, and finally landing into a calm, integrated space. Inspired by the spirit of South American shamanism, the set was curated to access the deeper layers of the body and mind — shaking off and transforming unnecessary emotions and energies along the way.

As a remixer, Makyo has worked with Cheb-i-Sabbah, Natacha Atlas, Transglobal Underground, Adham Shaikh, Solace, Omar Faruk Tekbilek, Kaya Project, and Shahin Badar, while Bill Laswell and System 7 have remixed Makyo tracks. Makyo's music has also featured on mix cds by Alex Patterson (The Orb), Youth, and Mixmaster Morris.
