Drowning in the Sea of Love tells a story about love, death and resurrection. It is a musical journey which reflects my own process of being separated from two of my closest and loved souls in my life as they left their physical bodies and now inhabit a comfort space in my heart. I’ve learned that this thing called death, regardless of its irony, can hand you the keys to eternity. By practicing the colorful and mysterious ways of music and embracing destiny, eternal light will shine on the souls that are no longer with us. It is possible to keep them closer than ever before (as heard in the last chapter of Mozart’s Requiem - LUX AETERNA).

Hopefully, this record will help you find light and comfort in times of separation, and these melodies will remind you that love is eternal, that love is a cure, and spending time with your loved ones is indeed more precious than gold.

I had the privilege to record and perform this record with many talented musicians which I’m lucky to call my friends:
Or Mahapatra, the heart of this record, accompanies us throughout this journey with her soulful vocals and her colorful musical presence;
Danny Kuttner (Okaya) brings the breeze into the music with her enchanting vocals and humbleness;
Ronen Roth, the wizard of sound, taking this album from the bottom of the sea to a colorful, breezy, and cinematic journey;
Gzhurkina Art turning music into colors. With her painting, she unveils more layers to the music, which I never knew existed.
Unfortunately, there’s not enough words to praise each one, but be assured that there is a beautiful story behind each note that’s been recorded here.

This album has been composed, arranged, and produced as ONE consecutive journey from start to finish, crossing genres and various melodies to manifest what is now the ‘Drowning in the Sea of Love’ story.
I’d recommend sparing 20 mins to engage and listen to the whole record as one whole composition.

DJ Chris Case was a regular at many Tokyo chill-out rooms in the 1990s, including the legendary Odyssey parties at Club Token. One of the older faces on the scene, he represented a connection between the psychedelic 90s and the psychedelic 60s, and he offered a lot of arcane knowledge when it came to music theory. 
Chris passed away last year, and I’m uploading this mix in his memory.. I don’t keep a lot of DJ mixes, but I’ve had this CDR for 30 years now, and remarkably it still played. I’m not sure exactly when Chris mixed this, but I would guess late 1995. Most of the music is from Silent Records, which was one of the premier ambient labels based in San Francisco in the 90s. Necromance is an electronic instrumental concept extended play by Kirsten Chevrolet, telling the story of two troubled teenagers, Manuel Lopez and Antonio Alvarez. In their hometown of Valencia, the two commit a series of crimes in a single night, driven by a need to "feel something."

After their stabbings, they get into an argument. The conflict comes to a crescendo when Manuel is stabbed by Antonio. Alvarez then defiles his corpse as the album comes to a close with the title track.
