DeKoder given name Dakota Douglas grew up in Calgary Alberta Canada and surrounding areas. As a child his interests consisted of computer and electronics and security systems. After graduating from school in 2012 he found himself listening mostly to Rap and Hip Hop. 
 After starting to frequent night clubs and getting out in the night life, he started to really enjoy the music and scene the “rave culture”  had to offer. 
 Shortly after he found himself listening to the sounds of drum and bass and it became a passion a short time after. A few months later he decided to try and start learning how to dj. So he saved up some cash and got into it late in 2013 after purchasing equipment. 
  Since starting up in late 2013 DeKoder has primarily just been djing from home increasing his skills, putting out mixes, networking, and messing around with other genres such as Trap, House, Dubstep.  
  To date DeKoder has made his first deput for the straightfam crew at Famstival in 2017 after being asked by event coordinator to fill in. DeKoder being excited from his debut has been asked to play other shows in the near future in and around Calgary in 2017.
