Born and raised in Florida, DeeDee grew up listening to the sounds unique to our state and loved dancing in the local clubs where she developed an ear for what makes people move...after spending some time outside Florida, she returned and made a name for herself in radio as an on-air personality on "The Bench Warmers" on iHeart Radio, and her own sex and relationship talk show "The Sweet Spot".
Most recently she got into event promotion and founded Slay Promotions LLC, which she used to begin throwing AMAZING parties in and around Orlando. Inevitably, DeeDee ended up behind the decks one spontaneous night at a local club and instantly fell in love with mixing and manipulating the music she had loved so long. She has since risen like a rocket in the scene while continuously honing her skills, becoming one of the most popular and skilled female DJ's in the business today.

It is with great pleasure this week we welcome Steve Raskin and Jason 'Qdup' Brown to the RIPEcast for this special throwback mix. I'll let Qdup set the table...

"When Deckard reached out to us about doing a new mix for The Ripecast, he asked if we would think about doing a Jon H dedication mix. Since we’ve already seen a few Fort Knox Five themed tribute sets by various DJ’s released, we thought it would be fun to pull some older tracks that influenced our sound.  As you may or may not know, in the late 90’s and early 00’s  Jason Qdup aka Jayclue, Jon H and Steve Raskin were in a DC area DJ collective called 308 Crew. It was named after the address of the 308 house that we all used to DJ marathon afterhours sets at, and where we all honed our DJ skills together in the Pre Fort Knox Recordings days. This mix is a retrospective of a lot of late 90’s and 00’s era tracks with a few more modern surprises that we would have rocked in our earlier days DJing. Lots of these tunes were from vinyl and were some of our favorite tunes of the era. We had a blast making it and know this mix would put a huge grin on Jon H’s face." - Qdup 

RIPEcast with Fort Knox Five & Qdup - Old School Breaks Tribute to Jon H

I had wanted to share this with my fans of the old Skool sound of the King of Breakz "DJ ICEY". Years ago as today I would get a massive amount of requests for Iceys music when I played out and I decided to give the fans a little of all his music. I dont recall how many records of his are in the mega mix but I am sure its over 25 parts samples and snips of a Icey record. This was made by pitching every record on a turntable to match tempo, sampling and then working across a 2 track editing system unlike the unlimited editing DAW used today. I plan on redoing this mega mix with all digital files to really showcase the back catalog of Icey.
