Featuring two tracks ‘Conjure Dreams’ and ‘Conjure Floyd’, both are peak time monsters that introduce two very different elements. ‘Conjure Dreams’ utilises a groovy, melodic bass that is reinforced using tight thumping drums to shatter any dance floor into the universe. ‘Conjure Floyd’ builds into a more ‘heads down’ techno vibe with a very interesting breakdown. Fairmonts Brothers Keeper EP (BEDDIGI123) was a beacon of creative originality and his eagerly awaited follow-up Scropulus EP unveils another immaculate 3-track electronic collection. The blossoming relationship between Bedrock and Jake Fairley aka Fairmont, the Toronto-based electronic music producer, live performer and DJ, whose inimitable grasp of contrast, dynamic and groove marks him out as a true originator, is exciting in the extreme.

Frozen In Glass immediately bends the ear with its hypnotising looped hooks and intriguing vocal snippets, as it travels away on a steadily pulsating groove dynamic, atmospheric electronic mastery at its finest, with hints of psychedelia to top thing off. Title tack, Scropulus, twists the dial further, delving deeper into dark corners, layering and stirring tense electronic textures to create a highly original, fizzing recipe for the dancefloor. Completing this highly invigorating package, the low-slung, hip-swinging groove of Terminal Z forms the perfect backbone as the track swarms and circles superbly to create the flawless head-melting finale to an exceptional EP.

Having begun his career making punk-rock-infused Techno and Electro under his own name, it was Gazebo (Border Community, 2005) in his Fairmont guise that positioned Jake as a global heavyweight. Hotly tipped UK duo Calum Percival and Jerome Withers join Hottrax with a sleek house release entitled ‘Kp It Tgthr’. 

Receiving early support from the likes of Jamie Jones, Detlef, Nathan Borato and Michael Bibi, the fast- rising pair started turning heads with their expertly crafted dancefloor edits of classics, such as their viral take on Madison Avenue’s ‘Don’t Call Me Baby’. Having sensed their potential Jamie Jones has now invited them to release on Hottrax, following a milestone year dropping music from East End Dubs, Cuartero, Monki, and Max Chapman. 

‘Kp It Tgthr’ opens with tight hi-hats, clean basslines, flirtatious brass stabs and pulsing chords until ‘Sip n Dip’ drives forward with rhythmic claps, distant vocals and swinging percussion. ‘Nerve’ closes with soft pads, bumping sub patterns and saturated voice clips providing a noir sound floor feel.

Nut In Your Mouth instantly commands attention with an infectious vocal hook that ripples around the pounding bassline. Flow is a frenetic offering with a chaotic flow and elements of acid that tightly coil together before unfurling into a rich, unadulterated bass conjuring up a sort of rhythmic voodoo. The EP rounds off with Put Your Phones Down feat. Woodzy. The track utilises a burgeoning synth that grows steadily as a hypnotic vocal line bleeds an air of mysticism into it before Woodzy calls us to put our phones down and get up. 

Seb Zito has firmly established himself as a key player on the house and techno scene. One of the core residents of London party starters Fuse, Zito has an unwavering ability to connect with the crowd and regularly plays at some of the world’s most renowned clubs. He runs his own highly-praised imprints Seven Dials and F&Z as well as releasing a slew of well-received EPs on Fuse, Infuse, Play It Say It, Edible, Four Thirty Two, ORIGINS, Rawax & Kaos Theory. 2020 is set to be a seminal year for Seb with plans to grow Seven Dials as a brand and the release of his debut album.

Hot Creations artist David Berrie returns to Hottrax with a sublime house release entitled ‘MC Blasta’.

Since first cutting his teeth in New York City, DJ and producer David Berrie has gone on to play at the likes of Space Miami and DC10, while garnering the support of Carl Cox, Marco Carola, The Martinez Brothers and Seth Troxler along the way. Following on from his massive ‘Revolution’ EP collab with
Jamie Jones last year and previous releases on the likes of Cuttin’ Headz and Play It, Say It!, Berrie launches firmly into 2020 with another stellar solo release on one of London’s most iconic house labels.

‘MC Blasta’ opens with an infectious sub-bass motif, rattling percussion, subtle vocal work and flanger effects which add a layer of warmth to the bubbling rhythm. Next, ‘F Is For Freak’ then perfectly swings with an apt spoken word sample, swirling synths, tight hats and pumping bass.

Manchester-based producer Mason Maynard is welcomed to Hot Creations to present McLovin’, featuring two tracks of equal magnitude that display his vibrant talent. Mason’s debut release on the formidable label is set for release on 10th April.

On the flip, the spellbinding Remedy features a snaking sub-bass complemented perfectly with the powerful vocals of Ursula Rucker. “In its original form the song featured an old acapella from Ursula, but when we were put in touch with each other we knew we wanted to create something completely fresh.”

Mason Maynard has already built himself an exceptional reputation, with his groove led productions backed by some of biggest names in the business including Carl Cox, Jamie Jones, The Martinez Brothers, Green Velvet, Skream and Seth Troxler. His releases on Repopulate Mars, DFTD, Sola and Relief (where he has collaborated with Green Velvet) have been supported heavily on BBC radio. In 2019 he toured the world, with sets at EDC, Hideout, Creamfields and also across Ibiza during the summer. Praised homecoming gigs took place at Manchester’s Warehouse Project and in front of 15,000 in the Hangar at Parklife Festival. 2020 will see Mason go from strength to strength as he continues to tour the USA and announces his new FANTAZIA label. Working alongside USA electronic music heavyweights Insomniac, FANTAZIA is inspired by early acid and raving culture with a debut release dropping on 6th March.
