Sydney Sunset Sessions 14

Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint presents the sixth installment of it's 'Correlation' series. Released in August of 2017, the inaugural edition featured a unique blend of untapped talent along with industry veterans, resulting in a cohesive fusion of artists from across the world. The label's borderless music policy was also well represented, showcasing a wide spectrum of electronica, from organic house to melodic house and deeper progressive grooves. In past editions, Sound Avenue has kept the track selection concise, with an average of just ten submissions making the final release. The continued growth of label affiliates 3rd Avenue, Crossfade Sounds, and Future Avenue have propelled the label's demo submissions exponentially across the last years. Add to that, a continually expanding music policy, and the 2024 edition of ‘Correlation' was finalized with eighteen beautiful selections.

Saltwater has always been one of those timeless tracks for me - something that instantly transports you to another place. I wanted to put my own spin on it while keeping that emotional, hypnotic energy intact.

This is the longest track I’ve ever produced, nearly 11 minutes of deep, rolling grooves, warm tribal percussion, and a soulful, melodic journey. I slowed it down, stripped back the original drums, and built it back up with an Afro-inspired rhythm, layering in subtle textures to create something that feels organic but still connected to the euphoric spirit of the original.

This is a 1 hour mix that I made for Electronic Music Australia, which has been broadcast on the radio in both Australia and the UK. As the name suggests, the idea of the mix is to showcase Australian artists - as such the mix features some of my favourite tracks from Australian producers and remixers, and iincluding Danny Bonnici's remix of my track Dark Storm, played by Hernan Cattaneo, and my current single, Standing Around.

In April 2023, Damian performed as a guest DJ at HeyDJ AU, following his success in the "The DJMixtape" competition the previous year. He also energized 17,000 runners at the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival in September 2019.

Damian resided in London for a time, where he contributed to the popular house night "Lopsided" and performed at both Club Libertaire and Dust Bar. His international reach extended to a guest DJ slot on MC Energy's "A State of Dance" radio show in Auckland, New Zealand, as well as a performance at The Loft UTS in Sydney, Australia.

Influenced by The Shamen, Fat Boy Slim, and The Chemical Brothers, Damian's DJing style reflects his deep passion for music.

Beyond music, Damian holds the position of Digital Media Director for the Cause Film Festival (CFF), where he aids filmmakers, charities, and causes in broadening their audiences.
