Rob Keko is an Australian guitar player/composer and recording artist living in Brisbane, Queensland. Rob was born and raised in the rural tobacco growing town of Mareeba, tucked away between the coastal tropics of Cairns and the rich soils of the Atherton Tablelands in Far North Queensland. If nothing else, growing up in this neck of the woods has taught Rob to be an individual, thoughtful, humble, and down to earth. These qualities are not only reflected in Rob’s personality but in the way he plays the guitar as well as his sense and style of song writing.

Rob is currently hard at work writing and recording his debut instrumental album, while also teaching professionally at the Camira Music Academy. The album which will be entitled “Chronicles” contains songs which have transpired from occurrences and events in Rob’s life. Each track featured on “Chronicles” is a personal reflection of Rob’s musical journey to date. The album showcases Rob’s ability to write in many different musical styling’s that convey his thoughts and evoke different emotions in the psyche of his listeners. To simply categorize this album into a particular musical genre is unattainable; however one factor which does remain consistent throughout, is the memorable melodies and groove laden hook-lines. 

Rob has been involved with many aspects of the music industry over the past ten years. These include studying first hand with various professional guitar players, attaining a Diploma in Music Performance from Southbank Institute of Technology, writing, recording and performing for various bands and duo acts, and also teaching professionally.

Rob has toured Australia performing in numerous acts that range from extreme metal and rock bands to an acoustic latin guitar duo. This has seen Rob playing at all sorts of venues from the grimy beer drenched stages of metal and rock clubs, to exclusive cocktail/jazz bars and gourmet restaurants.

The year 2012 is marked to be a big year for Rob. Upon completing his debut instrumental album he is set to knock on as many doors as possible both nationally and internationally.
