As 5 mil demissões anunciadas pela multinacional significam uma perda potencial de mais de 118.864 postos de trabalho (diretos, indiretos e induzidos). Essas demissões podem resultar em perda potencial de massa salarial da ordem de R$ 2,5 bilhões/ano, considerando-se os empregos diretos e indiretos. 

Além disso, haverá queda de arrecadação de tributos e contribuições em torno de R$ 3 bilhões/ano. Cada R$ 1,00 gasto na indústria automobilística acrescenta R$ 1,40 no Valor Adicionado da economia.
