Julian Gaskell is a maverick multi-instrumentalist singer, songwriter, producer, performer, storyteller and van driver.  Described in Cornwall by angry locals as the bastard son of Waits, Strummer, Reinhardt and Rachmaninov, he is a ludicrously self-sabotaging musical talent whose work over the last 20 years has incorporated verbose punk, withering agricultural-folk, european street accordion and skiffled-up boogie-woogie piano protest songs, torch ballads, weeping country laments and straight up rock’n’roll bangers.

As well as being a solo artist, I am also co-founder of Independent UK Record Label Boltfish Recordings. My music often delves into the style of playful nursery rhyme tunes accompanied by stuttering beats and atmospheres or heartfelt cinematic compositions. 

Solo releases and compilation tracks have appeared on Boltfish Recordings and various labels including The Ministry of Sound, Duotone Records, LacedMilk, Kahvi, Raw42 Music, Yuki Yaki, October Man, ClickClickDrone, Aerotone, Rednetic, U-Cover and others.

I also write and record under my real name: Murray Fisher (Soundcloud link shown below) as well as collaborating with other artists.
