The following review of Hangar 13 June 30th 2001 was written in Spanish by Dani Fiesta. The review will be published in a Spanish Dance Magazine.
The original review was in Spanish however a friend of mine (DJ FRANK) from spain has been kind enough to translate it for me. Thanks mate.

In this report I'm going to tell you all how are music, makina, is starting to get popular outside Spain. I think that this is really positive, because of the hard work we producers and dj's go in to each and every song.

Outside Spain Makina is known as Makina or Spainish Hardcore (SpanishCore).

This has been the second time I've mixed in the Uk, in Sunderland in the cool McEwans center. It was an old airplance hanger which they've converted into a center to hold events such as these. Sunderland is between Liverpool and Scotland, and the crowd there are a mix of people from both places. They find our music as an icon to differentiate themselves from the snobbier Techno and House people.

In England Pastis/Buenri,Skudero,Ricardo F, Ruboy, Requena, Me, Sistema 3 and Fraktal are considered the fathers of SpanishCore. It was funny finding out the that cool thing to say in Sunderland is 'Spanish Techno is my Life'. Cool!

The only tiring bit was having to get the plane to Paris then to London and then to Newcastle, but it was worth it!

The Party started from 6 in the afternoon until about 1 o'clock at night.

In this really well set out complex, they had 2 main rooms, one with makina, trance, happyhardcore and another where they played other types of music, such as progresssive, hardhouse, funky techno and italo-house.

The thing that most suprised me is that, as well as a dj line-up they also had a mc line-up, and during the hour and a half i mixed they never stopped mc'ing. The stood right in front of me, and they never stopped rapping over the records, even then ones that already had a rap riff. When one got tired, another got up and keep on. Incredible!

One of the most important dj's at this rave was Dj Scott , he's responsible for being the main promoter of this type of music, as well as being the resident dj of hanger 13 he also mixes makina and hardhouse in other venues all across the isles.

For me it has been a big honour represent a generation of good producers and dj's, which have done a lot creating our completely different style, the scene they've got there is brilliant, the people are fantastic, one even gave me a Newcastle T-Shirt with the number 1; on the back and above; Dani Fiesta. Cool!

I';m going to start learning better English, 'cause every time I go there I have a lot of fun and the people are out of this world.

Even though here in Spain Progressive is taking over the Makina scene, we can't forget that it is a style the we invented completely, and if it's quality isn't up to progressive standards it's beacuse Spain is young at the producing game.

Well Crew, time to go, but not without saying hi to all the dj's at the venue in England. They asked me to say hi on there behalf to Ricardo F and Pascnik.
