Building on the benchmark set for our catalogue, this 13th release displays a fully matured version of Counterpoint’s sonic aesthetic, and gives a little insight into what is expected to be a prolific fall season for the label.

Known for their technical and minimal approach to production - the connection with Handra grew naturally. Over pasts months we worked together closely to craft an EP, which is not only a unique piece of music, but also a true representation of our perspective on present and future Drum & Bass sounds. Bristol based Mikal journeys back into our catalogue to deliver a stunning remix on the title track.

After the success of "Footprint" (cat nbr. COUNTERPOINT011), Mikal returns to bring the Bristol twist to the Counterpoint bassline groove. Bringing all his weapons to the table, he reworks the title track Locket into a whole different direction. The legendary percurssion we've came to expect from the Metalheadz alumni is in full effect as he creates a rythimical frenzy of kicks, congos, and vocal chops that will fire off any dancefloor to the next level. A masterpice of contemporary Drum & Bass, that stands as a banner for the Counterpoint bassline groove, on the dancefloors and airwaves - wordwide.

A producer who, unbelievably, only began making D&B just a year and a half ago. His skills have evolved fiercely in the past few months and he is now proudly presenting these 5 sonic soundscapes, each expressing their own distinct individuality, but collectively demonstrating phenomenal production talent.

From the soulful mood evoking melodies of "Feel You" with its subtle warm bass & undertones of melancholy. DLR has launched his solo career with an astonishing rate of productivity and his release schedule has been packed full of exceptional quality music. We are proud to bring you his next single, arguably the most anticipated to date.  

“We’ll See” is a collab with Bristol-based companion, Break.  The pair have joined forces again after the success of their last collaboration, “Murmur”. The result is simply stunning and the duo deliver a neck-snapping monster of epic proportions. Despite the mysterious track name, it’s a devilishly lethal concoction; combining the immense talents of two of the scene’s most respected producers.  

Carrying equally destructive prowess, DLR continues on a solo tip into the B-side with “Tugboat”. The use of space in this hard stepper provides the perfect antidote to its predecessor’s intensity. The track is introduced with haunting atmospherics and ultra-tight drums. An enchanted bass is released gradually throughout, swinging amongst the elements; injecting a real technical funk into the track in a distinctive DLR style.
 
Finally we leave you with the experimental musicality and funk of “Delusion”, a late but freshly made addition to this release as an  exclusive  digital format only bonus track.

Brazilian D&B producer Bungle has dropped new EP ‘Runaway', out 1st September via the rising Eloisa Records.

The three track EP begins with title track ‘Runaway’ that see’s a rolling and grit fuelled bassline interject superbly with sharp and snappy percussion. Things take a deeper and darker turn with ‘Unleashed’ as technical and expansive atmospherics run rampant throughout the tune as the drums chop and change exquisitely. Seeing things home is an industrial growler, and not one for the faint hearted. The aptly name ‘Articulate’ is Bungle at his best and will no doubt be a choice cut for DJs across the drum & bass spectrum. 

‘Runaway’ marks the fifth release on the burgeoning Eloisa, the fresh  imprint ‘on a mission to surpass barriers in the D&B scene’. Under the Inperspective Music Group umbrella, the label is determined to instil some fresh energy across the genre. Knowing no limits in its expression or style of the broad drum & bass genre, the only thing we can be sure of is that whatever they release, it will be quality.

Having released on the likes of 31, Critical, Spearhead, C.I.A and Soul:R to name a few, real name André Oliveira Sobota aka Bungle has consistently represented the highest echelons of drum & bass music.

A stunning collection of hard-hitting and gritty cuts primed and poised to screw-up faces across the globe, Runaway is another superb release, from what’s fast becoming a superb record label.
