Eligh, a self-described “genre-breaking, obsessive bass fiend” has continued to sustain himself as a salient figure for over fifteen years within the increasingly fickle and rapidly revolving world of hip-hop. The Los Angeles native has maintained his respected status by fearlessly veering from a the traditional trajectory which is often limited to beats and rhymes. Instead, Eligh has chosen to fabricate projects that incorporate the gritty sounds of the UK dub scene, the unorthodox styling of indie rock, the lush guitars and honesty of folk music, and the complexity of jazz, all without losing the listener in a musically esoteric composition.

2018 will mark the release of Eligh's 10th official solo album. His last self produced album, Grey Crow, was a testament to his resilience against a drug addiction that nearly took his life 12 years ago. Grey Crow was the first official solo release from Eligh since 2003’s Poltergeist. Even with the seven-year gap between solo projects Eligh continued to contribute to a plethora of projects within that time frame which, most notably include, Living Legends albums, “Classic” and “The Gathering”; The Grouch & Eligh, “No More Greener Grasses” and “Say G&E!”; Eligh & Jo Wilkinson, “On Sacred Ground: Mother & Son”, and many more.

Eligh’s musical interest was piqued as middle schooler, and along with some friends formed the now defunct, yet legendary Log Cabin crew. That same crew would ultimately end up producing many of Los Angeles’s prominent hip-hop figures, including future crewmates, Murs and Scarub. After a stint in the Bay Area, which lead to a serendipitous gathering of minds, ideas and styles that formed the now world famous Living Legends crew, Eligh returned home to Los Angeles. Since returning home, Eligh has tirelessly produced classic material, being the main contributor to what many would dub the trademark, “Living Legends sound”. Outside of being a studio musician and rapper, Eligh has relentlessly toured and has performed on stages across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia and continues to deliver a captivating live show with his trademark rapid fire delivery, whether as a solo act or with his Legendary brethren. As a producer, Eligh has provided music for notable acts such as Living Legends, Murs, Rass Kass, El-P, wrestler John Cena, and continues to be a sought after producer by his peers.

In 2016, "Grand Tapestry" was released. A group formed by Eligh, Alam Khan, and Salar Nader, Grand Tapestry is a unique mix of classical Indian music, and hip hop, in line with Eligh's "Genre breaker" moniker. That journey is just beginning, and he see's the groups potential as limitless. His goal to score film had always been apart of his story, and Eligh hopes to speak it into existence in the coming months.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio In Ms Penny’s and her Husband Home listening to R&B, Funk and Mainly Hip Hop. I would Dance to Funk Music such as MidnightStar, Ohio Players and many more. Yet as a 81 Baby with my Original Father having a Van Club and blessing me with Drum Instruments. My mom brought a Radio to Lessing the noise. I would naturally freestyle/mumble non lyrics just for the passion of music. My father  Mike P. Rogers was my inspiration. And once I heard NWA tape from a friend as it was snuck to me to hear in the hallway. I said this what I wanted to do. By Third grade I was considered Hyper as a child for the love of music was always there. It was seen as super hyper to my mother to be so active and live-wire in her home. She consulted with professional, they tried numerous of things such as extra class duties of helping in what I lead in which was math as an alternative, then eventually it was suggestion to take medication which I secretly smoked pot instead, however one of my friends and I would go to his place and listen to the neighborhood rappers tape he had and he helped me write their neighbor rap lyrics out. And in that 4th grade year I started my own artist development. I told all classmates I would be a rapper with a company! From Then to Now I never stopped rapping! I put a group out here in the Bay Area, “The Syndicate” where everyone had their on Group/Label that I myself with my business knowledge contributed to, however the group decided to go each owns way. I stayed ten toes down to the I AM THE MONEY ENT and eventually got blessed with a location in the Tenderloin in San Francisco. I was inspired to know my favorite Artist 2Pac did a album here at the Hyde Studio’s down the street from where I resided so I started dropping on SoundCloud trying to build that buzz up here in Cali. Then the community was saying I had the lyrical part mastered I should produce my own music. I tried making my own sounds before but it was such a challenge. Somehow COVID-19 came and I had took a lose in business and was able to get my hands on 15,000 and I put it on my passion, took the advice the Big Hommie told me in the Tenderloin and I did the impossible created what I always wanted was a Super Dope Album, I bought top shelf equipment, I set it up properly with the help of a brother that was there from the beginning aka THE BLACK POWER BOSS(BUMP) who took me to the best place to buy the equipment in LA aka Melrose and Day in and Day out he kept reminding me "Joe Dowell " it better SLAP!
