"I was thinking about Summer anthems and how they always seem to be about going out and having a good time with friends. What about the people who want to stay in over Summer - the introverts? Where is their anthem? Inspired by those great Rock tunes over the years; "Let's Get Rocked", "She Hates Me", “Teenage Dirtbag” and "Beverly Hills" I set out to write an old school guitar Rock anthem that is really fun and quirky. This song is inspired by my favourite record producer Mutt Lange and Def Leppard’s “Hysteria” album. PLAY LOUD.

As of June 20, 2023 it was at No. 4 on the World Indie Chart list;  No. 10 on the Euro Indie chart ranking list and No.18 on the prestigious US TOP 20 SHOW.   BALL AND CHAIN tells the story of being in a controlling relationship with double standards and lies when it comes to love and the realization that it's time to break-free and move- on with one’s life.
On June 20, 2023, this song made the prestigious US Top 20 Show- The Weekly Pulse of Music at No. 18, and was No. 4 on the World Indie Top 100 Music Chart rankings. I recorded my version of Las Vegas (in the hills of Donegal), a 1992 hit by Goats Don't Shave. In my new arrangement I have inserted the sound of my uilleann pipes. The funny lyrics of the song speak of an imaginary scenario where a city like Las Vegas, with its casino's, strip clubs, hotels, was built in Ireland, in the green lands of Donegal. What could happen?

On May 13, 2015, my brother-in-law Eduardo Fortuny Loret de Mola was killed in a road accident, to the great sorrow of all who knew and loved him, in particular his widow and two sons. I wrote this song in the aftemath of his all too soon passing away, but the time never seemed right to try and record it ... until now, when Enna, his wife, read the lyrics and expressed her wish to hear a recorded version. It would also have been his 60th birthday this year. I took both as a sign that it was time, and thanks to the monumental musical and production abilities of Sergio Aguilar, not to mention the wonderful backing vocals of Beto Quintero, here it is.

The song, needless to say, but I will say it, is dedicated to Eduardo, and all who loved him.

Dan Boyko is a seasoned musician and songwriter with a passion for creating soul-stirring melodies and heartfelt lyrics. Hailing from Hamilton, known as a Hammer Town Hellraiser, Dan's musical journey has been marked by dedication and perseverance.
