Ooh Baby Baby by Smokey Robinson and the Miracles cover by Dan Donohue.  A beautiful hit song from 1965.  I can't sing like Smokey Robinson or the Miracles, but I'd love to be in a vocal group singing background harmonies.  Recording this song let me pretend I was doing that for a little while. This is my cover of Parry Gripp's huge 2013 hit, It's Raining Tacos.  I recorded this at the request of my cool Great nephew Milo Donohue.  Parry Gripp's original recording is a master work of production.  Full of great synthesizers and voice modifiers.  I could not possibly duplicate it, so I took a few liberties with it.  I modified the lyrics for my Milo, learned how to use a voice modifier and added some harmonies.  I learned a lot in recording this song.  I hope you enjoy it.

My cover of Bob Dylan's 1973 hit, Knockin on Heaven's Door.  From the movie Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid.  I found this beautiful song to be more complex than I expected.  The harmonies were difficult for me to figure out.  But it's fun to sing, "Knock, Knock, Knockin on Heaven's Door."  This cover has acoustic guitar, bass and  Hammond Organ.  I hope you enjoy it.

My cover of Neil Young's beautiful 1998 hit, Harvest Moon.  In my opinion, this song is one of only a few that express how a man truly feels about his wife.   My cover has three tracks of my acoustic guitar recorded into Apple's Logic Pro X.  Bass, drums and Hammond organ from Logic.  The acoustic harmonics sound is a Logic sound played on the piano keyboard.  The harmonica sound is Logic's Toy Melodica sound, modified a little bit.  Neil Young's original has female singers with beautiful two-part harmonies with way high notes that I couldn't ever duplicate.  So I sang harmonies in my range.  I found that there is a surprising amount of rhythm in this song.  I learned a lot in making this recording.  I hope you enjoy it.

Jimmy Buffett's recording includes exquisite guitar parts that I could never duplicate.  In my recording, the bass, strings, one guitar and guitar harmonics are sounds from Apple's Logic Pro X. This is my recording of Linus and Lucy by the Vince Guaraldi Trio.  From the 1965 TV Christmas Special, “Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown.”  I’ve been trying to learn how to play this song since I was a kid.  This recording has Piano, Bass, Drums and Shakers.  I lowered the key from G# to G to make it easier for me to play.  Vince Guaraldi was such a great composer and pianist.  This song is among his best.  I hope you enjoy this recording.

This is my cover of Bob Dylan's great feel-good song, You Ain't Goin' Nowhere.  He wrote it in 1967, but my cover uses his 1971 lyrics in a version he recorded with Happy and Artie Traum.  The lyrics are silly as can be, but the chorus is really great.  My cover has acoustic guitar, banjo. bass, harmonica, and vocals.   Recorded in Logic.  This is one of the great feel-good songs. This is my cover of The Left Banke's beautiful 1967 hit, Walk Away Rene.  Written by band-member Michael Brown, Bob Calilli, and Tony Sansone.  I think the Left Banke's recording of this song is a masterpiece.  The lyrics evoke the joy and pain of young love.  The chorus is a great hook.  The chord progression is innovative but sounds so intuitive and natural.  And the chorus' vocal harmonies are just sublime.
