Lost in Time - Improvised Piano Piece

Air Currents

A little old school jazz — piano, keyboard, guitar, bass, and drums, but with an electronic drum kit — all of which was produced using MIDI keyboard, plug-ins, and DAW. Originally created in GarageBand in 2011, but updated this week.

A personal musical note: The beat in the outro is very reminiscent of the “cool beat” that my student marching band's rhythm section played between songs during practice and parades.

Cool Breeze

IMAGES is a numbered series of original piano pieces inspired by the music impressionists of the late 19th and early 20th centuries... Ravel, Debussy and Faure. I love the impressionist painters. As a composer, I hear colors, the painter sees. And, I hear movement, shape and expression with sounds of melody, rhythm and emotion.

This is my cover of The Left Banke's beautiful 1967 hit, Walk Away Rene.  Written by band-member Michael Brown, Bob Calilli, and Tony Sansone.  I think the Left Banke's recording of this song is a masterpiece.  The lyrics evoke the joy and pain of young love.  The chorus is a great hook.  The chord progression is innovative but sounds so intuitive and natural.  And the chorus' vocal harmonies are just sublime.  My recording has acoustic guitar, piano, drums, electric bass, violins, cello and a flute solo.  Recorded in Logic Pro X.  I hope you enjoy this recording.
