Having recently recorded Fellow of Neringa podcast for us, Matas just created and released a fantastic, ground-breaking track - Somewhere in the East! We really liked his new track - it will definitely be ON our weekend party playlist, but now this piece of electronics is for your review!

PREMIERE: ImbrasasM - Somewhere in the East

This song was composed during a recent trip to Bamako, Mali. Quetzal received an invitation to perform for the album release concert of virtuoso musician Bassidi Koné that sparked the idea to travel there. While experiencing the incredible music and colorful culture he was introduced to many talented artists and the inspiration felt gave birth to this song. It features the amazing guitarist Sidi Diallo who is the nephew of the legendary Moussa Diakite to whom he was also collaborating with during this time. Bamako Basement encapsulates the emotion, groove and atmosphere of QVLN's experience in Mali which he holds dear to his heart. Stay tuned for remixes coming soon.

If you tune your ear you can hear, one by one, the little rhythmic taps of different elements aligning to guide you down a path. If you decide to follow it and enter this slow cadence, your shoulders will start to roll on their own, marking the precise times of different sounds between congas, bass, synthesizers and toms. 

On the way, Baru´s offering grows with guitar strings and tribal components. The mixtape plays with percussion and flirts with marimbas, inviting us to enjoy a jungle sound with African components. 

Si afinas el oído podrás escuchar como -uno a uno- los golpecitos rítmicos de diferentes elementos se alinean señalándote una ruta. Si decides seguirla y adentrarte en esta cadencia slow, tus hombros empezarán a remar solos marcando los tiempos claros de diferentes sonidos, entre ellos congas, cuicas , bajos, sintes y toms. 

Durante el camino, la propuesta de Baru se engruesa con cuerdas de guitarra y componentes tribales. Un mixtape que juega con percusiones y coquetea con marimbas, invitándonos a disfrutar de un sonido selvático con componentes africanos.

Tribute To Aes Dana

'Habits' is the first co-authored Album across three Valby Rotary favourites,  https://soundcloud.com/jeigomusic, https://soundcloud.com/louisfitton and https://soundcloud.com/tomvalbyrotary. Three producers, one desire: to create the most mellow and emotionally driven music with the tools they're given. 

The sweet spot of this track really is that for all its stripped back aesthetic, subdued it is not. We all know that sometimes less is more, but putting that into practice is a convergence of skill and care which is hard to appreciate, but even harder to replicate. This track ticks simply hits the sweet spot.

For all those 0 and 1 lovers, you'll be pleased to know this is getting a digital release. Cop habits from the 21st of this very month, you'll be treated for a sojourn through the Valby soundscape, there's no harm or pain there, only the best of times.
