Claire Dodson is a recent graduate of the University of Tennessee who currently works with the magazine Fast Company in New York City. This past academic year, as editor-in-chief of The Daily Beacon student newspaper at UT, she helped oversee a major website redesign and a change in print from broadsheet to tabloid.

For this edition of the College Media Podcast, Dodson talks tabloid -- the rationale behind the switch, the early challenges and surprises that came with it and how staffers and readers have responded to it so far. She also offers advice to student media teams considering a similar tabloid push and passes along more general words of wisdom for incoming editors looking to best lead their staffs and produce great journalism.
