Summer Camp Festival, Sydney 2023

The Burning Man community might not be able to gather in Black Rock City this year, but we can still come together through music. 

I’m honored that Camp Celestial Bodies invited me to play this year in the virtual Dusty Multiverse. Please enjoy my daytime disco/groove house set, an homage to my favorite party of the year – Carl Cox’s annual Friday morning disco sunrise set at Playground. This sound is where my soul resides right now.

GONNA MAKE YOU SWEAT

Inspired by the golden era of house music, Dan Azzo's sets are a high-energy blend of thumping basslines, dramatic breaks, and uplifting builds—seamlessly mixing between the classic and contemporary, all while spotlighting the genre’s queer forebears.

Few Sydney dance floors remain untouched by Azzo, cementing the DJ as a mainstay in Gadigal Nura’s nightlife scene. What makes him stand out most is his fluidity as both a selector and performer. His ability to effortlessly navigate the full spectrum of house music fills dance floors Australia-wide and beyond.

Azzo’s musical attunement has quickly translated into accolades, with support slots for the likes of Carl Cox, Riva Starr (UK), The Shapeshifters (UK), Kiddy Smile (EU), and The Illustrious Blacks (US).

A true figurehead in Sydney’s nightlife, Dan closed out the 2023 Mardi Gras Party—the southern hemisphere’s biggest and longest-running LGBTQIA+ celebration—to rave reviews.

Known for his explosive house sets, Azzo embarked on a European tour later that year, performing for audiences in London, Milan, and Amsterdam. His appearance at Amsterdam Pride, where he played on the iconic canals, was a once-in-a-lifetime experience surrounded by the energy of hundreds of thousands.
