To Dundov, “techno is music that precedes movement. It is dance music, solid enough to carry emotions through the dance floor and abstract enough to be a template for ever”. And indeed his breathtaking productions embody this ethos, serving the inherent function of making your body pulse spontaneously while also challenging your brain with its complex melodies and slow-burning, hypnotic progressions.

Although maybe the word “techno” doesn’t give enough detail about his style, it’s probably the nearest ballpark to whose principles his music adheres – and he is keen to expand the horizons of what people know and expect of the genre. But it’s that sense of his tracks being alive, forever evolving and expanding and increasing in intensity, which gives his music its unique sound and has seen his work crossover into a myriad of different areas of the global electronic music scene. 

His music shows you that he’s a producer with more than churning out mindless, functional and dispensable drivel on his mind. There’s a philosophy entrenched in his productions that breathes the very spirit of life and dynamism into them: “My ultimate goal as a producer and musician is to bridge the world of inspiration and physical world to the extent where the listener wouldn't be able to distinguish between the two. Music has this unique property to communicate deep emotions that are inherently in all of us. We just forgot how to use them, and my search is an attempt to revive those emotions where we all resonate as one.”

Born in Zagreb in the early ‘70s, his career in dance music stretches back the best part of 20 years. He counts a longstanding relationship with Belgium’s legendary Music Man records where he released many singles and albums and more recently with Marc Romboy's Systematic Recordings & the excellent Renaissance Records, amongst many others.

3 QUESTIONS to DIZHARMONIA:

Q: Talking about your mix - what do these tracks mean to you once and what do they still mean to you today?

A: These tracks are kind soundtracks of my life so far and definitely are part of my music education. Some of them remind me my childhood years, sitting at the back of our car during summer roadtrips with my parents. Others marked my first years of clubbing in my early teenage years. They are still giving me goosebumps and inspiration everytime I listen to them. 

Q: How did you reflect the past 2 years of pandemic for yourself?

A: These dark days where days of changes for everyone. I got some time off from my everyday routine and found my shelter into music. It helped me reorganise and replan my life and my career for sure despite all the unstable situation around us. It helped find time to start my new label called Androgyne Audio.

Q: Which future projects are currently cooking?

A: Since last 4 months I am alone in Dizharmonia project. My partner retired so I am taking my music where my heart says. I am back on tour after almost 3 years of absence from the dancefloors. feeling also strong on my feet to start organising showcases for my new label.

Dizharmonia - HOW I MET THE BASS #218

Today, September 17, 2022, after a two-year Corona break, the "World Peace Day" was supposed to take place for the fifth time between the Brandenburg Gate and the Statue of Liberty (Gold-Else). Twenty floats, many DJs and thousands of techno fans were expected at the route of the 17th June Street. After a long time, I also wanted to present my set at the Brandenburg Gate in the open air again. But the parade was canceled at short notice and for security reasons, because our oh so competent Senate (government of Berlin) approved a demonstration of the "right" at the Brandenburg Gate on the same day. Since counter-demonstrations were also to be expected, the organizers had to cancel World Peace Day. Maybe the Senate will check it out in 2023 and release the route between Goldelse and Brandenburger Tor for peace-loving, music-loving ravers. That's why you need to hear my set here on SoundCloud. Nevertheless, I wish everyone a lot of fun!!!

la`too has always had a soft spot for sounds on the border of Indie Dance and Progressive. He loves to manoeuvre between the worlds of melancholic electro and strong and dynamic Dark Disco. He represents the Techno Station collective from Gorzów on a daily basis, and also collaborates as a promoter with German label Artminding and Hungarian label Bemassive Records, among others. 

He is the founder of the MELODIC.DEEP.HOUSE music blog, which was originally designed to promote the local electronic scene beyond the borders of Poland in the form of a podcast series called LOCAL SUPER HEROES. As he himself says, it is his "apple of the eye" and currently features representatives from foreign labels such as Watergate Records, Rebellion der Traumer, and Diynamic Music.
