After several appearances on compilations, Aiwaska strikes back to Bar 25 Music with a solo release. Well, not exactly solo but in a brilliant company of vocalist Robert Owens, a pioneer of house music, singing for producers from Larry Heard to David Guetta since ’80s.

The ¨Other Side¨ track will see the light along with a Remix by legendary Audiofly. The Duo was formed by producers Anthony Middleton and Luca Saporito. With 13 years of creative partnership, it seems they are always cooking the next frontier of an all involving melancholic extremely balanced sound. Their point of view on the track is as thrilling as the original itself.

Pete Tong, recently awarded the Music Industry Trust Award in recognition of outstanding contribution, is fair to say has been electronic music’s foremost global ambassador. So, it’s fitting he’s looked overseas, specifically Russia, on his latest collaboration to join forces with Goom Gum, a duo who are now at the vanguard of the country’s burgeoning dance scene.

Pete explains how the project came about, “I’d been a growing fan of Goom Gum and ended up signing their re-version of Depeche Modes’ ‘Master & Servant’ to TSZ Recordings, a new label I started in 2019. Just before the pandemic the guys sent me a rough sketch of ‘Signal’ and asked if I wanted to collaborate. After playing it out a few times and adding some ideas and arrangement changes, I dropped it in Tulum and the crowd went crazy, which I was grateful to experience because it was one of my last big shows before lockdown.”

“We’re delighted Pete came onboard for ‘Signal’”, Goom Gum continue, “His support of our work has been amazing, but to get to actually work together was beyond our wildest expectations. His experience and insight helped craft the track into a total dancefloor bomb. We’ve been road testing it at our gigs lately and, trust us, it works!”

But the track’s evolution doesn’t end there. Inspired by the Tulum party, Pete hit upon the idea of creating a version dedicated to the Mexican clubbing mecca at, of all places, a dinner party! “At my house in LA we had a Moroccan room and my wife used to throw these incredible soirées. One night we even had a belly dancer and an amazing percussionist called Marc El Khouri. I played him ‘Signal’ (he loved it) and asked him to record some authentic percussion and tabla sounds inspired by my DJ set - and the Tulum version was born!”, he exclaims.

The project’s global theme is enhanced further with remixes from Berlin’s Anja Schneider and another fast-rising Russian star, Bora Uzer. Anja displays real studio prowess by delivering two different remixes, the electronica inspired ‘Break The Signal’ alongside a wonderfully warm ‘Deep Code’ version, which returns to 4/4 and a sound redolent of clubbing in the German capital; whilst Bora’s mix injects a real dose of energy and emotion to further cement its peak time credentials.

“We’re so happy to finally release ‘Signal’”, Pete and Goom Gum conclude in unison, “we had nowhere to play it for 18 months so can’t wait to get it out there.”

A new artist collective will be gracing the nightlife scene this April, as five of melodic dance music’s leading talents combine their efforts under a single, unified banner. Emanuel Satie, Maga, Sean Doron, Tim Engelhardt and Yulia Niko make up Scenarios, the collective, record label and event series. The label’s inaugural release takes the form of the two-track Here To Stay EP. The first instalment sees three of the five members collaborate on Here To Stay, a meandering, emotionally-charged offering packed full of poignant chords and textured drum patterns throughout. It feels introspective and danceable in one, paving the way for a similarly moving number in the form of You & I, Paradise. Already a household name in Berlin, with gigs at Watergate, Sisyphos and more under her belt, Stil Vor Talent regular Deer Jade returns to production with new vigour on an exciting collaboration with Dominican producer Vander. The package comes with two fantastic remixes, the first from Parisian duo Chambord, who take a bit more of a deeper approach to the track and creates an ethereal atmosphere. The gentle arp keeps the rhythm moving and pairs perfectly with the stripped back percussion.

The second from Pandhora who take the original on a more dancefloor focused approach. There is a distinct contrast between the deep / groovy bassline and the smoother, almost jazzy chord progression. Replacing the organ chords with funk guitar strums adds a subtle French flare to their edit.  The trio unleash a heavenly sound together. A unique release with deep squelchy bass combined with a striped back groove for a Latin-infused masterclass.

After first gracing the electronic music world in April with the Here To Stay EP, five-person collective Scenarios return to their imprint next month. This time, founding-members Maga, Sean Doron and Yulia Niko team up on the Starlight EP.

Proceedings are brought underway by Starlight, with the title track manifesting as a piano-fuelled, emotionally-charged piece. It drifts between feelings of elation and hope, building through robust synths and warming key chimes to form seven minutes of club-ready bliss.
