Pedro Capelossi returns to REFRACTION with Blur EP, his first release of the year, bringing his signature deep and immersive sound to the label once again.

With a raw yet detailed approach, Blur EP explores depth and movement in its purest form.

A deep, dubby, and hazy collection of three originals, this release sets the tone for the year ahead, featuring outstanding remixes from Gradient, Fletcher, and Merv. 

“Primitive Instinct” sets the tone with its raw energy—an acid-driven groove infused with deep dub influences, perfect for late-night explorations.

Next up, “Unintended Similarities” delivers a serious dub atmosphere, propelled by a chunky groove and hypnotic stabs that pull you deeper into the sonic haze.

Closing the release, the title track “Blur” unfolds with haunting pads and a mesmerizing progression, pulling you into a modulated synth odyssey that lingers in the mind long after the last echo fades.

Hailing from Saint Petersburg, Gradient is a true dub techno purist, known for his deep, minimalistic approach and meticulous sound design. 

His remix of Primitive Instinct is a mesmerizing journey, where modulated chords and atmospheric stabs intertwine to create a hypnotic flow. Subtle yet powerful, his interpretation showcases the essence of dub techno at its finest—pure, immersive, and deeply meditative.

For this release, REFRACTION proudly welcomes Berlin-based producer & DJ Fletcher for his label debut. Known for his refined touch in electronic music, Fletcher brings a fresh perspective to Unintended Similarities. 

His remix smooths out the original’s serious and introspective tone, reshaping it into an elegant, laid-back deep house experience. With warm grooves, fluid textures, and a sophisticated rhythm, this version invites listeners into a more relaxed yet equally captivating soundscape.

Closing the release, Copenhagen duo Merv deliver a powerful rework of Blur, staying true to its core essence while pushing the intensity even further. Masters of their craft, they amplify the haunting undertones of the original, layering deep, weighty textures and atmospheric depth. The result is a remix that feels both familiar and strikingly fresh—darker, heavier, and irresistibly immersive.

Lazy Days regular Matt Masters is back on the label after previous solo EPs and his collaboration with Milton Jackson. This time, he’s teaming up with none other than UK legend, Danny Howells for the ‘Introspection’ EP.

A combination of Matt’s 20 years experience working for Freerange Records (and having a mentor like Jimpster!) and Danny’s long and successful career as a pioneer of a deeper progressive sound that made him one of the masters in the genre.

The EPs features 3 tracks : ‘Introspection,’ ‘Elevate’ and ‘NTO.’ All beautifully crafter with this unique blend of deepness, dubby sounds, skillful use of samples and melodies.
