Riding a remarkable wave of global acclaim off the back of his recent Cercle performance from Jaisalmer Fort in Rajasthan, India, internationally celebrated German artist Innellea now looks to continue his stellar run of 2021 form as he unveils his next majestic musical opus, It’s Us.

Due for worldwide release on Friday, April 16, this breathtakingly original three-part offering is everything we’ve come to expect and more from the in-form producer, who arrives armed with a career catalogue of critically acclaimed releases on the likes of Afterlife, Innervisions, Diynamic and TAU, to name a few.

Inaugurating the package with the entrancing title track It’s Us, Innellea makes his intentions known the off, delivering a sophisticated blend of expansive synth leads, intricate polyrhythms and intermittent vocal drops, all brought together underneath a veil of deep, luscious sub-bass. Dropped as the sensational closer from his aforementioned live performance in Rajasthan back in March, this delectable slice of captivating breakbeat euphoria exudes attitude and raw emotion across its duration and speaks volumes of a producer at the very top of his game.

Offering another nod to the stunning locale of his recent Cercle collaboration, Innellea’s second offering, Golden Fort, sees the German producer return to his four-to-the-floor roots for the middle order of the EP, as he delivers a haunting house cut, tempered by evocative melodies and cinematic analogue experimentation. Exploring an altogether different timbre to the warm broken beats and ecstatic peaks of his blockbuster opener, Innellea’s imagination and creative flair continue to shine through for all to enjoy.

Extending the sub-continental motif across the entirety of the package, the EP is brought to a close with the exquisite finale, Haveli. An ethereal six-and-a-half minute anthem replete with hypnotic vocal soundscapes, organic percussion and frenetic, undulating riffs, Innellea’s nuanced treatment of dissonance and abstract textures converge in perfect accord to conclude yet another extraordinary release from the Munich-based prodigy.

Taking the scene by storm in 2019, leaving a dusty cloud in his wake, Innellea was initially a secret weapon for some of the techno scene’s leading DJs, before his music was officially released on the likes of Afterlife, Innervisions and Diynamic. From then on, Innellea’s colourful and intricate rhythms have captivated crowds worldwide, with tracks like Vigilans, Forced to Bend and The World Returns providing perfect examples of the bold musical statements that define his project. 

From the success of these releases soon came a slew of captivating live sets and a wealth of unreleased tracks, amalgamating to create considerable global hype around his name. Fast-forward to 2021 and Innellea continues to rewrite the rulebook with each release and live performance. PREMIERE : Aston Alba - Euphrates (Original Mix) [Chrom Recordings]

Our Chrom Recordings EP nr 40 is from Sam Albasini aka Aston Alba, a producer & DJ from Switzerland. In 2018 he released his first singles and EP's on Trippy Code and Inlab. Pretty soon his style of music evolved from melancholic & hypnotic techno into a mix of mystic atmospheres and Middle Eastern sounds resulting in releases on Grrreat & Aftertech. And in this style he presents us now his 2-track EP on Chrom Recordings:“Tigris & Euphrates”. To round things off, we also added  some very powerful remixes.

For “Euphrates” we asked an artist we already wanted to add to our roster for some time: Aaron Suiss, from Washington DC, but now currently residing in Thailand. Aaron Suiss describes his style of music as Progressive Melodic House/Techno. Aaron is currently working as the A&R & Label Manager of Outta Limits Recordings, one of the leading Progressive House labels around and the imprint of Stan Kolev & Matan Caspi. Next to his output on Outta Limits he also has released on Revolt, Harabe & O'Tawa. For this remix Aaron teams up with Q.U.A.K.E aka Netanel Asraf from Israel.

The second remix of “Euphrates” is made by Riccardo LeBron aka Anakim (pronounce as ana-keem), a Los Angeles-based DJ/producer who describes his music as "Intergalactic Underground Sounds”. He perfected his sound at the esteemed Icon Collective Music Production School resulting in a dark and mysterious sonic style that is both melodically rich and delightfully sinister. Releases on top labels such as EIN2, ICONYC, mau5trap, Desert Hearts Black, Krafted Underground, Dear Deer,... and nominated by DJ Mag as  “Artist To Watch” in 2019 and by Billboard Dance as “Emerging Artist You Should Know” this year, says it all.

And last but not least the EP is completed with a remix of “Tigris” by Sarcasmo. Sarcasmo is a new project, a new idea, from the Spanish producer/DJ Alvaro Fuentes, established in London, sharing his more than 10 years of experience and in which after researching about different styles brings his darkest side: techno, deep and minimal influences fused with dark vibes is what you can find in most of his energetic productions, resuling in releases on labels such as Steyoyoke, Us & Them, KDB, Wood, Cinematique, Qilla,...

'Allies For Everyone is back on Motek with ‘Who Are You Tonight’. Listeners of Allies For Everyone’s music will be accustomed to his deep and crisp production underlaying smooth and sultry self sung vocals, and this single delivers on all fronts. The track rolls effortlessly over a lightly chugging baseline with soft pads laying a background for guitar and pan flute textures to be picked out. Reverbs and delays on the key instruments provide atmosphere and depth while well placed percussive parts add to the punch and groove of the piece. The production is finished off with vocal effects and textures which underpin the main vocal.

We are excited to welcome Dansor back on remix duty along with newcomers to the label Baime. Motek’s own Delfin and Navitas bring a breaks flavour to complete the line up.

After an atmosphere building instrumental, Dansor has ramped up the original to the peak hour. Faster moving parts within the beats section and stab synth 16th notes give the track this quicker feel while the arpeggiating lead drives the melodic overview of this remix. At times jarring synth play brings tension and release into a mix that manages to expertly blend warmth and punch.

Baime take their version from the deep and driving, to the hands in the air. An almost middle eastern feel is given which is driven by the fantastic use of percussive drum and conga textures, tambourine shakers and choice of instrumentation in the statement making lead synths. The track develops carefully and creatively to its full crescendo in the last couple on minutes with a masterclass in arrangement.

Finally Delfin and Navitas have gone for a full on breaks feel with their remix. Punchy beats sections and dubby bass elements make this track all about the groove. Energy is sucked out and gradually built back in the musical sections to create balance between the harder hitting and softer atmospheric. Stabs, and effects add interest and surprise in a remix that will unashamedly keep you moving.'

French talent Hugo Cantarra teams up with world class singer Jinadu on The Sign. After many remarkable reworks (for Duke Dumont, Adam Beyer, The Weeknd, etc...) topping the Hypeddit charts and getting attention from strong Youtube channels (BLANC, for example) + many DJ supports, Hugo Cantarra has now started working on his original tracks to build his artistic profile. Open to many electronic genres, this skilled DJ easily navigates between House, Tech-House and Techno.

The Sign is a strong track, with a mesmerizing top line and driving synths over a uplifting Housy beat. It's delivered here with some 5 stars remixes.

Panama's brothers K.E.E.N.E. drop an exciting afro-house flavor, playing with vocals and shaking beautiful percs over hypnotizing loops, while Russian newcomer Cadillac Express wraps up the vocal into a perfect Melodic Techno groove. Family Piknik regular member Mood Gorning completes the release with a lovely organic Deep House odyssey, led by an additional piano that will turn many dancefloors upside down.

To close out a truly crazy year in every sense of the word, we welcome UK based Schörmann to ICONYC with his latest single 'The Sky is Still There'. Besides the original mix, the release features 2 outstanding reworks from label all-star Allies for Everyone & Swiss sound virtuoso Black Space, who bring us their gorgeous take on the original and put a smile on our faces while doing so. 

On his ICONYC debut, Schörmann indulgences us with his spectacular original of 'The Sky is Still There'. A beautiful track that brings nothing but joy in these unusual & strange times.  The beautiful harmonies of 'The Sky is Still There' pared with Schörmann's trademark beat manipulation culminates into a gorgeous piece of house music for the ages. 'The Sky is Still There' is a perfect piece of music to put you at ease and create a warm and fuzzy surrounding in which you can relax and unwind. Adding to our growing list of all-star remixes, we welcome Black Space to ICONYC, who opens proceedings and knows a thing or two when it comes to producing mind blowing works. Acknowledged for his releases on Einmusika & Natura Viva; Black Space turns 'The Sky is Still There' into an irresistible track like only he can by using the original elements on offer with perfection. Black Space layers more melodies and effects, whilst upping the flow with cleverly programmed break beat like percussion grooves and his trademark FX elements, without destroying the essence of the original. His rework deserves to be branded 'essential' in any sense of the word. 

Next up we welcome back label favorite Allies for Everyone to bring us his take on 'The Sky is Still There'. AFE who needs absolutely no introduction with his array of immense releases on some of the biggest labels out there, delivers a classy organic mix for the ages. His rework creates a good feel vibe from the word go, as the atmospheric and organic vibe keeps you moving with warm tinkling sounds, a smooth edge and some nicely effected sounding pieces that continue building to culminate into this amazing groover. The sparseness is key here, as this restrained gem works its magic while it plays away, creating a stunning glow and an air of sophistication. Need we say more? 

What better way to close out what has been a memorable 2020 in every sense of the word? Schörmann's 'The Sky is Still There' sees a worldwide release on December 21st, 2020.
